    Horrendous shuttle buses

    rating03 May 2026

After catching a very crammed shuttle bus from airport to the hotel we were greeted with very nice staff checking us in. The room was just your typical ibis style twin room,we stayed a few nights comfortably here.i hated having to go downstairs to get a coffee or a tea,I’ve been to other ibis style where the coffee/tea stations are on each level.overall we had a comfy stay . Ibis Styles, at ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.We’re happy to hear that our team gave you a warm welcome at check-in and that you had a comfortable stay in your room 😊We’re sorry to read that the shuttle bus was very crowded and that the coffee and tea setup was not as convenient as you expected. As part of our green hotel initiative, we do not provide individual coffee and tea facilities in the rooms, but our lobby coffee machine is available 24 hours a day for our guests.Your comments regarding the shuttle experience and coffee/tea accessibility are very valuable, and we will share them with the relevant teams for review. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again for an even smoother stay.Warm regards,Team Ibis Styles

    Wouldn't stay again

Good points - breakfast, varied buffet, interesting wallpaper, nice sweet potato fries with evening meal. Bad points - too few shuttle buses resulting in massive overcrowding and unsafe journey. Had to stand and nowhere to safely hold on. Driver gave poor instructions which resulted in some people getting off at the wrong hotel. Dreadful smell of drains in the room coming from the shower. The thermostat was very complicated, resulting in not being able to get a reasonable temperature in the room. Huge heavy duvet with no option for lighter bedding other than just taking the duvet out of the cover. Lighting in the restaurant dismal. Evening meal ok but nothing special. Joy Operations Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us.We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast buffet, our unique decor, and the sweet potato fries during your evening meal 😊However, we’re truly sorry to read that other aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. Your comments regarding the shuttle overcrowding, safety concerns, and unclear instructions from the driver are very important, and we will share them with the relevant team for review. We also apologize for the discomfort caused by the shower drain smell during your stay. Please allow us to mention that this issue has since been resolved. We also regret that the thermostat, bedding comfort, and restaurant lighting did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is very valuable and helps us identify where improvements are needed.Thank you again for your honest comments. Avoid

    rating06 Feb 2026

I left a review on through Accor but they did not publish it, so I will repeat it on here. We are Accor gold member and made the mistake of booking this hotel for 2 nights with intention of visiting The Hague before and early morning flight. From the very start is was there were signs of poor management/system failures. I could not find much information about the shuttle times so I emailed the afternoon before. They didn't reply until the following morning. Approximately 15hrs for a 24hrs hotel for a simple request about shuttle times. When we got to Schiphol the shuttle was 10mins late... Arriving at the hotel there was no recognition of our Gold status. That's ok it is an Ibis Styles in Europe. We didn't expect much. We had booked 2 x Comfort Rooms, which are twin beds. Now the Gold status entitles us to a room upgrade where available. Everywhere across Europe on our 5 week trip either assumed or waited until we arrived to check whether we would like an upgrade to a queen or king room on our arrival for one room. Maybe they didn't have one? We checked how busy the shuttle would be on our departure and the check in staff actually said they were really slow right now as it is quiet season...We get to our rooms and they are the standard rooms. 1 room is perfectly fine. The other has the window winder half hanging off. This means that the window can't close and the road noise from the freeway behind is horrendous. We had to go and request a new room. They commented that the rooms on that side are subject to more noise as they haven't yet had noise treatment. They moved our room to the other side (same room type) but much better room with noise treatment etc. So not only were we not upgraded but we were put in the lowest rooms of the category. So much for recognition for loyalty. On to the restaurant debacle... The hotel is located in the middle of no where at the opposite end of the airport. Only really accessible by shuttle. The hotel restaurant has a monopoly. It was closed for a private function. We asked at the front desk for options. They suggested the only other hotel next door or suggested that we wait until 8pm when the function finished. Well I guess everyone else in the hotel was told the same thing. At 8pm everyone came down for dinner. There were 3 staff working, until the 3rd (who we were informed was the manager) immediately decided to go home, leaving 2 staff members to be completely overwhelmed. The food took an hour to come out. Forget trying to get a second round of drinks (we tried and gave up). Back to the rooms. Our kids went to have a shower. Imagine their surprise when they found they had 3 hand towels and 1 towel between them. Unfortunately they found this out when the second child was in the shower - oops. Housekeeping - Thankfully we had read reviews so we knew that we had to "opt in" There is literally no information about anything, anywhere in this hotel. When we went to the front desk to "opt in" for house keeping she seemed genuinely surprised that we were opting in. I guess people don't because they don't know that they have to. We also requested a second towel! After spending all day in the Hague we returned to find that our key had been turned off to one of our rooms. Back down to the front desk, wait for a staff member to return from god knows where, to get it re-keyed. One thing that is apparent is that there is no where near enough staff and the staff that are there are worked off there feet. It is an absolute shambles of mis-management. It is a shame as the hotel is actually quite cute isn't bad for an airport hotel. This hotel was by far the worst hotel we stayed in, in 5 weeks across Europe.

Great Staff, Rooms, location and shuttle bus service!

    rating24 Oct 2025

Getting to the hotel from Schiphol Airport was surprisingly smooth. We simply took the A9 to A13 bus stop right outside the airport the connection was easy to find and well marked. The large shuttle bus had plenty of space, which was a huge relief as we were traveling as a family of four with eight pieces of luggage. Since Ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport is the last stop on the route, it made unloading stress free and well organised.Upon arrival, the staff immediately made a positive impression, warm, efficient, and genuinely helpful. They offered to store our luggage safely in their downstairs storage room so we didn’t have to drag everything to our room. This small gesture made a big difference after a long flight. The hotel itself feels modern, bright, and well designed. Our family room was surprisingly spacious for an airport hotel, clean, well lit, and smartly arranged. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, with crisp linens and supportive pillows that gave us a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was another highlight: roomy, spotless, and equipped with a fantastic shower. The water pressure was excellent, and the temperature stayed consistently warm, the perfect start to the morning before a long day of travel.Check out was equally seamless. The shuttle service back to the airport ran on time, but one tip try to plan around peak hours, as the buses can get crowded during the morning rush when multiple flights are departing. The staff at reception kindly advised us about this, and it helped us plan our departure efficiently.Overall, Ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport exceeded our expectations for a short airport stay. It’s ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a comfortable, hassle free base near Schiphol. Between the easy transport links, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms, it’s excellent value for money. Disappointing Service

    rating25 Aug 2025

I really like an Ibis Styles but the service at this hotel lets it down - also the random tiny step into the bathroom. Don’t be fooled by the reliable airport shuttle. The Ibis Styles bus also goes to Ibis and Ibis Budget. They also get a separate bus every 20 mins whereas the Ibis Styles is 40 mins. There is no structure at the airport so if you don’t force a space for yourself on the bus you miss out - not great with a 7 year old.On the one day we arrived 10 mins early for the bus but it didn’t show up. After waiting 30 minutes we used public transport which was quicker and convenient. On arriving at the hotel I asked why it didn’t show up and the member of staff was rude and didn’t care. No apology, no offer to look into it or anything. Ibis Styles, at ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport, responded to this review Dear Si M,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with the shuttle and the impression of our service. We understand how frustrating it can be, especially when traveling with a child. Please note that the shuttle issue seems to be related to coordination with other Ibis hotels on the route, and we are actively working with our transportation partner to improve scheduling, clarity, and overall guest experience. Your comments about staff interaction will also be reviewed to ensure we provide consistent, helpful, and courteous service. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a smooth, comfortable experience that better reflects our standards.Kind regards,Team Ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport
