    Buyer Beware

    rating03 May 2026

Called desk upon arrival and told to come to lobby if we wanted soap or shampoo. Only one person at the hotel. The bathroom fixtures in black were covered in months of dust. Room for two people had no walking space no closet no dressers. Only a rack with 4 hangars. There was one luggage rack and almost no space for a second piece of luggage and two people could not fit through area where bathroom door was located and had to back up to open the door. Only way to enter hotel with luggage was a steep set of stairs. Overpriced terrible hotel. Worst I ever stayed in. Pictures do not show the cramped space properly. You Can Do Better Elsewhere

    rating29 Mar 2026

I wouldn't stay here again. Pros: near Leidesplein, with airport bus and numerous tram stops nearby, and an Albert Heijn market with Geldmaat ATM on Overtoom. Room was clean except for the shower near the door. Staff was polite and helpful in the dining room. Check in/out was easy. Cons: my double bed room was small, with furniture hung on the wall for lack of space. There was no desk nor chest of drawers for clothes - just a few hangers on a rack. Lighting was dim and limited except for daytime if there was sun. The shower soap/shampoo bottles were mounted on the wall and extremely difficult to squeeze in order get the soap out. The coffee maker leaked and the sugar packets were from biblical times - hard as rock. Breakfast buffet was meager - I'd hoped in vain for fresh berries or cut fruit (it's definitely not worth what they charge).Net: this is adequate if you just need a one night stay in a convenient location. But I expect people could do a lot better elsewhere. Nice hassle free stay

    rating30 Jan 2026

Girls trip in Amsterdam. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Easy to get to location wise. Used the tram from Amsterdam central. Friendly staff helped us when our booking didn’t show on the self check in system. It was an easy system to use but we had made amendments to the booking prior to coming which I think had been the issue. Rooms were clean, nice touches with x2 bags of popcorn x2 sweets and x2 lollipops plus some moisturiser. Coffee pods, tea and coffee machine and kettle. Only strange thing was the frosted window from the bathroom into the bedroom. It’s floor length and when the lights on it doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Fine if you are comfortable with the person you are staying with but a bit of a strange experience.Stairs are really steep to get in and inside. The buildings are old and to be expected but I did think it would be tricky for anybody with disabilities.Didn’t have breakfast but from what I could see of the buffet area it looked nice. Little self service shop at reception. Slightly inflated prices as you’d imagine but ideal if you’re in a jam and needed toothpaste or something. I’d definitely use this chain again. Easy hassle free stay. Hans Komen, Owner at Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square, responded to this review Dear Suzie,Thank you so much for your stay and for sharing your experience with us. Small hotel in a good location

    rating19 Jan 2026

Just home from 3 nights in a small double room. (312) It really is a small room with little space and no storage at all, but there is a small bathroom, tea and coffee and a safe and fridge. Room was freezing f when we arrived but soon warmed to too hot, the room temp controls didn’t really make much difference. We did B&B, breakfast was simple, cereal, breads and pastries, tougher, fruit and pancakes; tea, coffee and juice. No toaster. Hotel is in a good location to access the city. Has a bar open 4-11pm and a small self service shop Hans Komen, Owner at Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square, responded to this review Dear Joanne,Thank you so much for your stay and this wonderful review! The small double room is indeed smaller than our comfort room.We are so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel soon.Thank you again for choosing the Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square.Best regards,Hans Komen – General Manager

Great central place for a few nights

    rating14 Dec 2025

I got booked here and went for a single room to save money. Great location, services, friendly staff however I was shocked at how small the room was. Apart from the room size, great comfy bed, powerful shower, new towels daily, lovely Dead Sea mineral soap, coffee machine and cosy in the room Hans Komen, Owner at Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Leidse Square, responded to this review Dear Jennifer,Thank you so much for your stay and this wonderful review!
