    This is a small quirky and friendly hotel. I believe it was several houses merged together, so the rooms are different, the landing areas are on slopes. There is a small lift, which is great as the stairs are very steep. Great location at the top of town and 5 min walk from train station. Can be noisy outside in the summer. 24 hr desk. Breakfast; good with plenty of choice. We’ve stayed here twice and would stay again. No tea/ coffee making in the room. Great bar next door and restaurant the other side.

    Location is perfect, breakfast is good enough. Staircase is very sangerous for older people and we didnt have elevator so its good to take that in concern. Price is pretty high in that matter what you get but overall we liked the place.

    Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The hotel is clean and traditional which I enjoy much more than large chains. The free breakfast was great and all staff very pleasant. The location is amazing just across from train station and near all sites. Amsterdam is a blast.

    Worst front desk clerk ever.

    I was there in Aug. 2023 and had a memorable experience, the front desk guy immediately started badgering me. It was one insulting comment after another --"You Americans..." this and that. I was initially very polite, simply confused. Another guest told me the other desk clerks were okay. It was unreal, like a comedy sketch. The guy continued to badger me as I went upstairs. I've nothing to compare it to in my life it was so bizarre.

    Had no sleep all weekend as the hotel was having work to outside of hotel and workmen were constantly banging the scaffolding from 6am. Breakfast is terrible with very limited options. We were also made to pay City tax to the hotel on arrival. I will not be returning here again
