    Average hotel but pleasant enough

    rating06 Nov 2025

The location was perfect for what we wanted, the walk into more ‘central’ Amsterdam was easy enough. The staff were friendly when we checked in and out. The deposit we put on a debit card and they said it could take up to 30 days to return but we had it back after only a couple of days. The room was clean enough and the bed was comfortable, although I would say it is a basic hotel for the amount we paid. The wardrobe felt very unstable and creaky despite it being a renovated room and there was no shower gel in the bathroom which is always just a nice finishing touch. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we couldn’t hear any street noise or anything at night time. I would stay again!

    Not worth the money

    rating28 Sept 2025

For the price we paid for 2 nights, I would have expected A LOT better from our room. We were on the top floor (3rd) in what can only be described as a loft room, certainly not one of the lovely looking rooms in their photos! Shabby paintwork on walls, holes/cracks in walls and ceilings, rotten window and skirting boards as well as the door. Water leaked from the 'wet room' under the door into the bedroom area. Disgusting smell from bathroom (stagnant water?). Extractor fan in wet room was as good as useless! Has not put me off going back to Amsterdam, we just won't be staying here again.

    Classic 2 star hotel

The hotel is quite basic and has no lift so you need to be fairly fit as the stairs are very steep to get a suitcase up and down them.I had a room with a private bathroom which was comfortable and very clean although felt a bit damp by the second day.

    Very unhappy with our experience

    rating12 Oct 2024

The room was filthy, water glasses not washed after previous guests, dirty towels, and dirt/dust all over the windowsill and under bed. We were very uncomfortable and the room didn’t even smell fresh upon entering. When we expressed our concerns the receptionist was extremely unhelpful and didn’t seem to have any idea on how to interact with guests. He offered for the room to be cleaned however we had decided to book another hotel, even though not even a partial refund was offered. To end it all he proceeded to inform us that we were no longer allowed to return to the hotel, essentially banning us.

    HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

    rating25 Apr 2024

Avoid booking here or just be aware that what is on offer is not necessarily what you would want! Upon arrival, our room stank of cigarettes and Cannabis. The window wouldn't open and the blind was broken. We discovered that breakfast is NOT served at this hotel but at another one a 10 minute walk away! Again, this is not stated on their website. Warning!  The "STAIRS" are dangerous unless you are a totally fit person who can literally mountaineer.  Their website does say that "stairs can be steep in houses in Amsterdam" but these are beyond steep and their website needs to state a warning as a care of duty. One of us has a knee replacement and can climb steep stairs but these are impossibly steep.  Loose flooring at the top of the first flight was also a hazard. Due to these three issues, we rejected the room and the hotel. Now, here's why I would recommend NOT booking with Quentin. We have been trying to contact their customer service since Monday 22nd April. Nothing in 5 days, they have NOT RESPONDED.   We spoke with Anita and Bahareh Khajepour in customer services this week and still no response. They did confirm that the company MD is Mr Avi-Noam Tsuff, so he is next to contact to try and get some decent customer service. I wonder if he cares about his customers?  I'll let you know!
