Location

This luxury hotel is housed in an ivy-covered building located just a short distance from the lively centre of Amsterdam. Scores of shopping venues, restaurants, bars as well as links to the public transport network are located in the hotel's vicinity. This hotel is situated approximately 1.5 km from the nearest nightclub and roughly 15 km from Schiphol airport.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 5 single rooms and 73 double rooms located in a 5-storey main building and a 6-storey auxiliary building. At this hotel, which includes a lift, guests are warmly welcomed by the English-speaking staff. The reception desk in the lobby is staffed round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a newspaper stand. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include a transfer service, room service (for a fee), a laundry service and a hotel shuttle bus.     Missing Property, Multiple Complaints, and Complete Lack of Accountability

    My stay at this hotel in Amsterdam was extremely disappointing and left me feeling that my belongings were not safe.During my stay, I experienced multiple issues, including a persistent bathroom odor, constant pipe and water noise, nighttime disturbances, and poor communication from reception. Despite reporting these problems, no effective solution was provided, and I was told that a room change was not possible because the hotel was fully booked.The most serious issue was that my AirPods went missing during my stay. I immediately reported this to the hotel and requested an investigation. Although the hotel later informed me that staff had been questioned internally, they concluded that there was no evidence to support my complaint. No responsibility was accepted, no compensation was offered, and the matter remains unresolved.As a result of the disappearance of my AirPods, I have filed a police report. Regardless of how the hotel views the situation, the fact remains that my property disappeared during my stay and I was left without a satisfactory explanation or resolution.What disappointed me most was not only the loss of my property, but also the lack of meaningful support afterward. The final response consisted of apologies while refusing to take any responsibility or offer any goodwill compensation, despite acknowledging several of the issues I experienced.Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel. If you value customer service and the security of your personal belongings, I would suggest considering other accommodation options.

    My friend’s AirPods disappeared after housekeeping cleaned our room, and the situation was handled very poorly by the hotel staff. Reception didn’t even make a report the first time we informed them. We stayed for 3 nights, and my friend had to go back several times asking for updates, but nobody was helpful. They kept insisting she must have lost them outside the hotel, even though she never took them with her in the first place.On top of that, there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom drains, and the walls were so thin that you could constantly hear water running through the pipes behind them. For the price, this hotel was extremely disappointing.The only positive thing is that it’s close to the city center, but we definitely won’t be coming back.

    Great location so close to Van Gough and Vondal park. Easy tram ride get the number 2. Very nice area. We arrived to the hotel having all new beds. It was the best sleep ever . Rooms good size. The only negative was breakfast . Food was cold and both morning the hot drink machine didn't work. Such a shame but I would stay again ..

Silence is no longer an option; legal responsibility will be pursued.Zero empathy and total lack of professional ethics. As a Level 7 Local Guide, I usually focus on service quality, but today I must warn others about this hotel's lack of humanity. We were forced to cancel our stay due to the sudden passing of my father. Despite providing the death certificate and explaining the situation of force majeure, Hotel Alfred has not only refused any refund or date change but hasn't even bothered to reply to our emails. It is disgraceful that a business prioritizes a few euros over basic respect during a family tragedy. Wij zullen niet stoppen totdat de wet wordt nageleefd.Totaal gebrek aan empathie en professionele ethiek. A pesar de enviar el certificado de defunción y explicar la situación de fuerza mayor, el Hotel Alfred no solo se ha negado a reembolsar importe alguno o a cambiar las fechas, sino que ni siquiera se han dignado a contestar a nuestros correos.     We loved our stay. We were able to walk easily to many attractions and restaurants and a few minutes walk to the tram. The room was spacious and clean with a street view. Angelica, at reception, was very welcoming, informative and patient with our many questions about our first visit to Amsterdam. Would definitely stay again!
