Location

Housed in a historic Amsterdam style building, this hotel is quietly located yet is still just a short distant from Amsterdam's lively city centre. Many of the most famous museums including the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and the Museum of Modern Art are just a stone's throw away, as is the Vondelpark and Leidseplein that has an exciting nightlife scene. Links to the public transport are to be found within 100 m of the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 9 rooms, which are located on 2 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room.     Location was great. Only a short walk to the city centre. Facilities were excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Maaza was the star of the show, always ready to help and took the time to make sure our stay was the best it could be.

    First question they asked: are you claustrophobic? If you are, this probably isn’t for you. You sleep in a capsule (enclosed room the size of the bed. At 5’4” I could kneel and not hit the ceiling. If you are much taller, that could be a problem. Capsules can be cooled, the bed is super comfortable, staff is amazing and the bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was good (they make hot chocolate for you-excellent) and it’s right across the street from the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. They will store your luggage prior to check in and during the day and for a fee after you check out. The toughest part (I have bad knees) is getting in and out of the capsule and getting changed in the capsule requires some acrobatics. Otherwise, highly recommend!

    TOXIC and negative ENVIRONMENT in a hotel claiming to be 'trendy'. THIEVING STAFF.

    Very TOXIC ENVIRONMENT. staff ABUSE THEIR RIGHTS (perhaps requested by management?) and STEAL YOUR MONEY. When arriving, you are obliged to sign a document that you are susceptible to pay 200 euros penalty or to be kicked out without any proof or reason and WITHOUT REFUND. HORRIBLE STAFF. Never had such a negative experience in any hotel in the whole world in my life!!!

    We had a really lovely experience at de bedstee which exceeded our expectations. The capsule was much more spacious than we expected (I’m around 5 ft 5 and could kneel) and the air conditioning kept it nice and cool. The double bed was very comfortable with multiple plug sockets and adjustable LED lights and there was enough space on a shelving unit to keep your bags and shoes in - the capsule is obviously lockable so keeps your belongings safe. The wifi was excellent. Also came with dressing gowns and towels for the communal bathrooms. The bathroom was very clean and well equipped with soap, shower gel shampoo and hairdryers. We had a stressful journey with our flight being cancelled and then rebooked with multiple delays, and the staff were very accommodating to this and let us check in very late at night with no additional cost. The only thing is that we were on the top ‘bunk’ which made it a little tricky to climb up the ladder into the capsule but this was not a deal breaker. Location was good, 20-30 min walk into the centre of amsterdam. Would definitely stay here again!!
