  Cheap option with an excellent location near Centraal. Avoid for long stays.

  Excellent location at a 5-minute walking distance from Amsterdam Centraal, which was quite suitable for me since I was only going to stay for 1 night in Amsterdam and had to catch a train very early in the morning. Cheap option for Amsterdam standards. The receptionist was nice and serviceable man.Apart from that, it was what I expected for this price and location in Amsterdam. It was very noisy, you can hear everything that happens in the corridors and rooms nearby, and it's obviously filled with people who are coming back from partying, so not a good option if you're a light sleeper and you need to have a quiet night. Furthermore, the hotel is not clean at all, some corridors smell of urine, and there's also a foul stench in the room. The rooms are quite small, although not very different from other hotels of this type in Amsterdam. The stairs are narrow and somewhat steep, so take care if you're carrying heavy luggage.

  NO 24HR BAR.

  More of a dangerous staircase with rooms attached than a hotel. There is NO 24 HOUR BAR. In fact the bar was barely open at all. The rooms were dirty, bedsheets had black stains on them and the shower will be an issue for anyone of adult height. Gets one star just because it's cheap. Avoid.

  Wow. What an unforgettable stay at the Travel Hotel in Amsterdam — and I mean unforgettable in the way you can’t unsee a car crash. Sure, some hotels aim for luxury, others for charm. The Travel Hotel? It aims for survival training.Let’s start with the sauna—I mean bedroom—where air flow is a mythical concept, much like unicorns or customer service. The walls are so close you’ll feel like you’re living in a suitcase, and just when you think you might get a peaceful moment, the bells outside chime non stop.. class.The shower deserves its own chapter. It’s a thrilling game of “Guess the Temperature” — will it be boiling hot or Arctic plunge? The bed comes pre-equipped with stains and friendly little roommates… bed bugs. They’re the true locals — you’ll leave with souvenirs in bite form.And, ah yes, the stairs. Imagine Mount Everest, but indoors, steeper, and more determined to ruin your knees. By the time you reach your room, oxygen masks should be provided. Spoiler: they’re not.In short: If you enjoy heat, claustrophobia, random ice showers, insect companionship, and medieval bell towers, you’ll love it here.

  Excellent valule for money, will be staying there again

  After reading the large amount of poor reviews, my epectations for this place were very low, however I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised.The hotel is located on a quite side street of the Red Light district and looks inviting on arrival, the reception desk were helpful and got us checked in within minutes and we were directed to our room.Thankfully we were located on the second floor, the stairs up were not even that steep by Amsterdam standards, on the way up everything was clean, modern decor (it looks like the place has had a good quality refit with the past five year or so).We got to our floor, the ceilings were quite low, I am 1.88m tall and there were only a few centimetres from the top of my head to the ceiling, but this is nothing, I didn't have to duck my head or anything.Got into our room and was very pleased with what I saw, we had a four bed room for the three of us, basic, clean and again good quality modern decor.There was a TV with satellite channels, though we only used the TV briefly on the first night.The on-suite bathroom again was clean and the shower was fine, plenty of hot water available.We stayed for three nights and could not fault the place at all, I will definitely be staying there again in future.Excellent value for money for what we were wanting.

  I stayed at the hotel with my friends for 5 nights, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The cleanliness was a major issue, as everything from the bed sheets to the bathroom was dirty. Additionally, the housekeeping service was poor; the housekeeper didn’t clean our room for 3 out of the 5 days. The staff at the reception were unhelpful and not accommodating in any way. I would not recommend this hotel.
