  Absolutely awful, we arrived early not realising check in time they asked us to come back at 2 - no problem then when we did they said they needed longer so we went out again , when we finally got back they gave us our key and when we went to our room we was actually outside where there is around 5 rooms I believe in what can only be described as a shed like room - the room was one of the worst I’ve stayed in , it was stone cold ( although heating did warm it up to the other extreme) the “double doors” didn’t open properly because the tree was right outside the bedroom so restricted being able to actually open them , mould all round and a bathroom that can only be described as a cupboard , whoever planned it had no common sense ! Again covered in mould the shower screen was half the size of a standard door screen which meant it literally done nothing in terms of stopping the water going everywhere , meaning everytime you had a shower so did the whole bathroom and when you wanted a toilet your head was in the sink as there is literally no space, we stayed two nights and it’s the worst I have ever stayed in an absolutely no way is 3* , the pillow they gave you was a square cushion styled one which was not comfortable, along with an actual coloured cushion like you would put on a sofa which had stains on it ??, my husband came home absolutely covered in bed bug bites - I did not get into the bed as I couldn’t relax the whole time due to the state of it all.

  The reception was professional and sweet. So nothing towards them. But the room... it's just embarrassing for the hotel to let us pay for a room and get the keys too it, and then not even clean that room. I have slept in motel cleaner than this shitbox. They told us to sleep here the first night without cleaning the room, and no compensation.

  We had a fantastic time at the hotel. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Excellent location close to Vondelpark, cruise, restaurants and Rijksmuseum. Overall great experience. Highly recommend this hotel.

  GREAT LOCATION BUT DIRTY

  The only thing good about this hotel is its location. Other than that I can’t really say much my main concern was how dirty my room was, I think that anything from below the ankle and above eye level gets completely missed. Stayed in the outside annex- thick dust had to wipe the floor as my feet had dirt and pubes stuck to them, asked housekeeping to change my sheets only to be told at 1pm that he was finished for the day. Needs a good lick of paint and a bloody good clean. I removed my bed sheets on my departure, I wish I hadn’t now as I felt physically sick to find the pillows and duvet I had slept in for several days was covered in let’s say peoples bodily fluids yellow and red stains I’ll leave that to your imagination if this allowed pics I would of attached them. I did say to reception on checking out only for them to say I’ll get them to chuck it out and in my eyes a poor apology.

  Awful place, disgustingly dirty, rude staff, really impacted on our stay in Amsterdam

  AVOID THIS HOTEL! This is the most filthy, disgusting place I have ever stayed at. The staff are rude and ignorant and not only refused to move us to a different room but refused to clean it. I have stayed at hostels cleaner than this. It is years worth of dust and dirt accumulated on every single fixture/furnishing - will try and add pictures. There was a dirty sock left on the floor, rubbish down the side of the dressing table, chewing gum stuck to the skirting board, vomit on the window ledge - the list goes on. Tried to deal with hotels.com as the receptionist ended up ignoring me after he told me it wasn’t his problem as I didn’t book directly with them, they replied that the issues were ‘minor’ and advised me to ‘make better choices’ next time I book a hotel and that ‘some people would find that reasonable for the price you paid’. For £70 a night I’m not expecting luxury, but it is advertised as a ‘boutique’ hotel - it is a glorified hostel at best, and the LEAST I would expect, even from budget, is a clean, habitable room. Honestly do not book at this hotel despite what the positive reviews say, it really is dire, look at the other negative reviews and pictures, they are completely accurate. It’s ONLY saving Grace was the location. You have been warned!
