  The location is excellent and the suites are clean. The veiw of the canal is very nice. We booked a two bedroom suite specifically for air conditioning and were informed at checkin that only the upper floor suites have air conditioning, ours had fans that did nothing. The windows open 10 cms at the bottom so managing temperature was problematic. One window is located right above the steps where everyone from the building smokes, one window is non operational and the other one is right by the hotel trash bins. These bins are also not locked up at night so people are searching for free bottles for returning every night at 3am.(not a quiet search). The bedroom window looks only at the hotel’s public lounge and the bins. The kitchenette is highly functional but needs a refresh as there are three of many dishes where four were needed. It could also use a toaster for basic breakfast and an ice cube tray. The furniture is stained and worn. The water pressure and showers are excellent. They have nice smelling soaps and shampoo. The combo washer/dryer is absolutely useless, five hours for a load and things come out wet so don’t count on that amenity. The staff were kind, helpful knowledgeable and wonderfully dutch. We rented bikes for 24hours for 20eu each and rode out to Muiden. Stayed for 8 nights in suite 113.

  Felt like home in the most beautiful city in the world

  Wittenberg by Cove is well located to enjoy Amsterdam. The city is extremely walkable and groceries and transit nearby. I booked a studio and was surprised that the property upgraded me to a 1 bedroom. It was larger than my apartment at home!Laundry was expensive (7€ to wash and 5€ to dry) but so nice to have, and the property provided laundry capsules and dishwasher capsules free of charge. I would stay at this property again and again. 8 nights in Amsterdam for under $1600€ felt like great value without the upgrade. Highly recommend.   Some things could be better

  The location was fine, quiet but close enough to tram to easily get everywhere we needed to go. There are plenty of businesses for convenience but not overcrowded or touristy. It is close to many of the Jewish sites. The hotel is made up of several buildings connected by center garden area in each with only one central entrance/exit to street. We went through 11 doors, through three buildings and across the gardens to get to and from the street and our apartment. We were on the fourth floor, which means you take the elevator to the third floor and then the narrow winding stairs for one, which is fine on most days, but for luggage very tight and steep with small landing at the top. The apartment is quite spacious and clean. The bedroom and bathroom have spring loaded to stay closed, which is rather strange and inconvenient. The fourth floor is basically the attic, the apartment, especially the bedroom had a very stale, musty odor. It was nice having a washer and small kitchen. The kitchen included exactly 2 cups, two glasses and exactly two each of other dishes and cutlery. There is a kettle and Nespresso machine. The bathroom was large with nice large shower. The bathroom sink was set up to block access to the hot water setting. For most of the day you could get fairly warm water but later in the evening and at night there was only cold to lukewarm water. The towel were thin and basic. Bathroom included all the required amenities.   Wittenberg by Cove felt like real Amsterdam living. The apartment was huge, by Euro standards and the location was perfect. Close enough to everything, but quiet enough to really sleep! Make sure to use WhatsApp to communicate with staff, since they are often up and about helping others. I will miss the lttle Dutch apartment.
