This charming hotel is situated in the heart of the museum district just a few paces from the famous “P.C. Hooftstraat” shopping mile. Links to Amsterdam's nightlife are located in Leidseplein, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 5 apartments, 8 single rooms and 10 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by a lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, an alarm call service and a laundry service. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning, central heating and a fan ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a TV, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

    Quiet small hotel with elevator close to museums

    Small quiet hotel close to museums. Sunny room, immaculate bathroom, nice breakfast offered, but at 20 euros, found I could do better elsewhere. Staff very helpful. Elevator clean and reliable. Nice neighborhood, with school right across the street, neighbors walking dogs. Quiet at night.

    We stayed here having booked on pop website with good reviews. We booked for the family room with 4 separate beds that works for fam with teenagers. The good. The beds are comfy. The bathrooms small but good and clean with strong shower and soap, shampoo and conditioner included although ours was empty. Room was good temp. Pretty small space for four but as expected. The BAD - there is a reception and a basic breakfast area, but No bar or place to sit at night. Two vending machines. That is it. Would be fine but this cost over £300 per night. Nowhere that you can just go for a drink in sight of the hotel. So nothing to do in return but be in the room. Intenally there is some serious wear and tear with wallpaper missing etc. this place is not interesting or notable and do not pay more than you would expect for a basic room. Very close to museums but a decent walk into centre. We are disappointed for what we’ve paid.

    Perfect location to explore! Hotel was clean, quiet and friendly. The only thing that let it down was the breakfast don’t waste your money go find a nice little cafe which you’ll get more for your money. We would recommend this hotel but wouldn’t get the breakfast again.

    I stayed in this hotel with my husband and son for a 2 night mini break. Location was perfect for our needs, with the bus stop to and from the airport about a 1 minute walk away. We had a quadruple room for the 3 of us so plenty big enough. Bathroom was nice - the shower was particularly good. Our room was serviced and we got clean towels, which was a nice surprise as that isn’t always standard for a 2 night stay.All the staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was very good - more choice than expected for the price we paid. The staff were more than happy to store our luggage after we’d checked out and had a locked room behind reception for this purpose.Would definitely stay there again.

    Comfortable, excellent location in the Museums quarter

    We stayed for 5 nights at the XO Van Gogh hotel as a couple and chose it based on price and location. We enjoyed our stay very much. We were offered a bigger room than the twin we had booked directly, which was on the first floor overlooking a school in a quiet area close by the Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum. Staff on reception at all times, a safe in the room, mini fridge and coffee machine. Air conditioning made a good sleep temperature and the bed was very comfortable. Only one bedside light which seemed a bit odd, however we managed. Everything was clean and in decent order, with excellent shower and lots of hot water. We had no complaints. Price was reasonable for location, so handy we could walk most places! Loved the pleasant neighbourhood and happy sounds of children playing below. We had breakfast at the hotel on two mornings, good value, lots to choose from, hot and cold. I was a bit worried by some of the negative reviews here but our experience was good so I can recommend the XO Van Gogh to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel near the centre that doesn't cost a fortune, with lift and reasonably sized rooms in good order. Nothing luxurious but it's 3*.
