Stuck in the past: avoid Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd

Do yourself a favor and find another hotel. Why? That will quickly become clear once you read about our experience.Stepping into the room immediately transports you back to the nineties. A dated interior is one thing, but the lack of modern amenities is downright bothersome. You'll still find an old-fashioned RJ-45 internet jack in the wall—highly progressive for the end of the last century—but there isn't a single USB port to charge your phone. Furthermore, there is no thermostat, making it impossible to adjust the temperature in the already chilly (though clean) room.The real letdown happens at night. Because of a far too soft mattress and a severely sagging box spring, the bed turned into an uncomfortable hammock. Add the extreme lack of soundproofing to the mix—we got to enjoy loudly chatting neighbors until 2 AM alongside unmistakable toilet noises—and the result is a dramatically poor night's sleep.The following morning, a perfectly fine shower fortunately offered some comfort, after which we sat down for breakfast at 8:15 AM. The coffee and the fresh croissant were good, but the rest turned out to be a complete joke. All hot dishes, including the scrambled eggs and pancakes, were cold. The bacon had been heated for so long that it was reduced to rock-hard, tasteless shreds that disintegrated at the slightest touch. It was simply inedible.In short: the service provided is severely subpar and the entire hotel exudes faded glory. Save yourself the disappointment and keep looking for something better.

A very comfortable stay near the Twente University campus.

Entire room was very clean, and the bedding very comfortable. It was also very spacious. The bathroom had a shower as well as a tub, which was nice. Also friendly staff. It looked like a nice restauant on site, although we didn't have a chance to try it.

We have enjoyed it very much . Very close to the campus, clean rooms, a tasteful breakfast and nice personel. ( the bar looks stylish in a really cool way). I will most certanly recomand the hotel to my friends.

Really enjoyed our stay - super comfortable room and a really wonderful staff who were welcoming and friendly throughout. Convenient to the University of Twente that we were visiting with our son. Great electric bike rental service meant to be able to explore the region with ease. Shower pressure Could’ve been a little stronger but did not check from the Pleasure of our stay.

Cozy old inn with super friendly staff

Cozy old inn from 1830? Very comfy beds, pillows. Not said in description but has 2 levels! Sitting/Tv room and full bath on entry level, stairs to upper loft bedroom also with tv. Good thing my older legs still work well, tho trips downstairs to toilet in mid-night not so good for older folks.One strange glitch: booked and prepaid via Priceline (subsidiary of Booking.com I believe) they say Booking was invented across the street at Twenthe U!! Yet upon checking in, they had no record of Priceline booking!! Only after I gave them phone # to call did they resolve issue! Unreal!!Once in room had to call service to a. Close strange stuck open window b. Locate hidden buttons on reading lights c. Replace broken telephone! Second day had to walk back to reception 2x !! When my keycard didn’t work!!Staff was friendly and helped immediately, but why are these issues happening?Don’t they do this each day and know to check for problems? Ok guess I have stayed in too many hotels…Still, very cozy and sweet hotel and would definitely stay again!
