Lovely friendly staff, rooms are a bit dated tho

We have been coming to this hotel for many years, bar staff are so friendly. We were looking to come back next December but the price for 2 people is about €4000 euro? Surely this is a mistake?

Small scale, good value, with a personal qpproach

Spent 5 nights at Bastion hotel Leiden-Oegstgeest. Being a small scale place, the staff welcomes every guest making you feel at home immediately. Public transportation, frequent bus service to Leiden and Oegstgeest nearby is ideal for those who pefer to leave their car in the, free of charge, fenced and gated hotel parking. Food, breakfast and dinner is good quality. Four different specialty beers are on tap, expertly dispensed by Daphne. Cook O’Brian, or Marianne can serve you warm or cold snacks, including the famous Bitterballen, a typical Dutch specialty. Internationally oriented guests like me may be disappointed by the poor selection of TV channels, missing all primary free-to-air newschannels like BBC World, CNN, France24, Al Jazeera, BVN, or Deutsche Welle. One negative point is the rotation of staff among the different Bastion hotels in the region. Frequent visitors like to be welcomed by the same people

The hotel was clean and the rooms are compact but had everything we needed. However, it was the staff that really made this place stand out! From the cleaners to the barmen to to the reception staff, they were all friendly, attentive and helpful. They made our stay! A special thanks to Michiel and Isabel behind the front desk who were incredibly accomodating and made our lives so much easier, thanks again :)

The hotel is situated in a quiet area, basic rooms, clean and comfy beds.There is a coffee machine in the room and a small fridge.Would have been nice to be offered more toiletries,and also the possibility to rent bikes from the hotel. Nice and easy.

A very comfortable and well located hotel. The rooms are wide, clean and comfy. The service is great. The breakfast good, with a mixture of international and local customs. The restaurant is well served and the Dutch beer is great. It is very close to Oestgeest neighbourhood, with several running road to go outdoors in the mornings or at sunset. As in all Leiden, evrything seems to be well organized, beautiful and peaceful.Great place to stay if you want to pay a visit to some friends or to do business in the area.
