  Expensive for an average hotel

  We were working in Masstricht on business so needed a local hotel and due to the festival on the hotel decided it could inflate it's prices. The cost for 5 Nights was very nearly €1000. A cost of €450 may have been nearer the mark. The corridors were not cleaned daily or didn't appear to be. The room I had had only 1 curtain and the area where the radiator had been had not been decorated. The air con was such as you couldn't set it yourself or if you could then I never worked out how. The maids did not wash the cups every day and one day I was left with no large towel. On a bright side the receptionist supplied you with extra coffee quite easily although the coffee machine had to share the same plug socket as the kettle and it wasn't wonderfully attached to the wall. The bed was soft and comfortable but the desk could have done with been a little bigger. It was easy enough to leave our cases and pick up later after work but no receipt was given and no check on who you were when you picked them up. As normal light in the room was a problem.Altogether a hotel that with some TLC could be a good asset but at the moment is just a flickering light and way overpriced.

  Great hotel - will be using it again!

  After having our booking at another local hotel cancelled just 3 days before travel and tried The Bastian and we’re so glad we did. The room was exceptionally clean and very well appointed. The beds were comfortable and we had clean towels/bedding when we needed and our coffee was replenished when required. We enjoyed the use of the pool table in the evening and the staff were all very helpful. Excellent location.

  Room is fine. Nothing special. My grandma has a similar one in the nursing home. The reception is horrible and we did not feel a warm welcome at all.

  In November 2025, I stayed for four nights at the Bastion Hotel in Maastricht. The location and parking facilities were positive aspects of the experience. However, there were several issues: my room lacked towels, even after four requests to the receptionist, there was only one toilet roll, a broken lamp, and a malfunctioning air conditioning system. The breakfast appeared to consist of day-old croissants. Despite extensive discussions with the receptionist, I was denied a refund for the remaining nights after the first night. I was advised to contact the Hotel manager, who would determine if a refund was possible. As a guest and business manager, we have decided to pursue a business arrangement with another establishment. This booking was intended as a trial, but unfortunately, the Bastion Hotel in Maastricht did not meet our expectations. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel, regardless of price or hospitality

  Cozy and confortable but gym and breakfast would need some improvements

  The Bastión hotel is cozy and the room comfortable and quiet. Staff is kind and helpful. However I was expecting more sport material in the gym such as dumbells. Breakfast was fine with eggs and omellletes being cooked on the spot. However there was no plant-based milk as an alternative to cow milk which is pretty much a standard in hotels.
