  We stayed before in a superior room but this time due to a one night stay we chose a basic room. We stayed in room 133 which is located on the third floor in the roof. We heard very little to no noise and facing the courtyard we didn’t have any street noise like we experienced last time. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. I would suggest the hotel to fix an extendable mirror in the bathroom. Due to the already present mirror’s position (quite high) and the sink being quite bulky you can’t do your makeup very well. The mirror in the actual room is in a dark corner. The staff were polite and friendly.

  Maastricht hotels bad experience

  For my stay in Maastricht, I booked the first Hotel Sint Jacob, the sister Hotel Boutique Hotel Grote Gracht. Due to the impossibility of staying in that hotel, we unfortunately moved to this hotel. We traveled for a long time and were tired and happy that they could receive us. The room was on the ground floor, because my husband has problems with his knees due to the stairs, which were narrow and difficult to climb, so the option of a room on the first floor was not possible. The air in the room was stale and did not smell pleasant, but it was already late and we decided to stay. We both slept poorly, although the bed itself was not uncomfortable. The next day I complained about the accommodation, but they didn't have another room for us. The receptionists were friendly, but they couldn't help us. The room is poorly cleaned, there is a bad smell in the bathroom that spreads into the room. There was dust everywhere. There were no closets to store clothes. All in all, it is a negative experience to mark such accommodation with 3 🌟, and its sister Hotel Boutique Hotel Sint Jacob with 4 🌟. They have a modern check in/out system, but everything else is neglected.

  This was not boutique quality. The room was dated. The shower curtain stuck to our bodies when showering. Outside the shower, it leaked in the corner all over the floor. There isn’t a door on the bathroom. We were suppose to have a refrigerator in our room but there wasn’t one. I asked for ice for a cocktail and they told me to put it in my refrigerator. I explained we didn’t have one and they said it must of broke. There weren’t any others. We paid for Christmas breakfast and every table was dirty but one. We sat down and they were angry at us because they were tearing down in 15 minutes. I tried to go downstairs use the restroom but the entire basement was flooded. There was dog hair all over the stairs and constant dogs barking. Save your money.

  Don’t call yourself a Boutique Hotel if you can’t live up to that standard… — Room’s interior felt worn out and in need of maintenance, and wasn’t thoroughly clean (dusty corners, nail polish marks in the bathtub). — The bed isn’t a proper double bed, which leaves you sinking into a big hole in the middle constantly. — Super noisy: street sounds, but also slamming doors of other rooms and talking guests in the hallway.— Disturbing scent in the entrance hall, which my boyfriend called ‘the scent equivalent of a dj Tiësto concert’ (which I guess some people love, but not us).Over 200eu per night without breakfast included felt overpriced.

  Cosy hotel in te center of Maastricht

  The location of the hotel is perfect for a visit to teh center of Maastricht. The personel at the desk was very friendly. The room (at teh backside of teh hotel) was rather small including the bathroom). The price was rather high for the qualiity and compared to other hotels in teh center.
