  Nice hotel but terrible customer service and noisy room aircon which goes off by itself at night

  Hotel is isolated in a forests area and is a very nice hotel.Room standard was excellent and we’re looking forward to a good stay.However what developed was so disappointing.Hotel receptionist was abrupt and very customer unfriendly.We tried to order room service and were told abruptly it was not available despite being advertised.I managed to persuade someone to deliver our food by asking a member of staff directly.Food was of good quality but not what we orderedWorst aspect was the air conditioning unit automatically coming on every four hours at full blast and loud noise.It woke us at 11pm, 3pm and 7am and I tried to get it to turn off using the remote which had no instructions.We asked the manager to ensure it was completely stitched off the next night which he said he would.Inevitably it came on again the next night at the same times.When we complained no one cared at all and it is obviously this hotel has no one who understands their own aircon system.We paid for an executive suite yet received truly awful customer service and two bad nights sleep.Such a shame that a good hotel with good rooms destroyed our stay with bad attitudes and uncontrolled equipment.I won’t be back and suggest you avoid

  Staff attitude

  My husband and I stayed in this hotel 3 nights in May 2022. I observed some attitudes from the hotel's restaurant staff. One night we decided to eat at the hotel's restaurant. When we entered the restaurant, we saw 4 staff chatting together. They carried on chatting and ignored us. This carried on 10 minutes! Meanwhile, we waited.My husband then very politely tried to get one of the staff's attention but was totally ignored! She only looked up when she was good and ready. What usually happens is they'll say, "ik kom eraan". We'd have been happy to grant it.Once we were seated, one of the waiters went to another table who were seated after us. When the same waiter finally "saw" us, my husband asked to look at the menu first. His demeanor changed and said, "oh, you don't want any drinks," said "good" and just walked away!!! Only minutes later the leader of the wait staff came by with all the menus. What is it with the restaurant staff's attitude? The other staff were efficient and friendly though. Their rooms have different layouts. All are spacious but there are different layouts. Behind the hotel are woods with wonderful trails for long and short walks.This is a big group of hotels throughout The Netherlands

  The hotel is close a very nice forest locatedThe hotel is ok, only the bed is very small and soft, plus the noise pollution from other rooms is to much. So do not order a room in the basement The people in the hotel are nice, the food is good, the breakfast is very good

  We have used this hotel many times in the past, for ourselves and for family members, but that was when it was still part of the Hampshire group. Like many hotels taken over by Fletcher, this hotel has deteriorated a bit, carpet in the corridors are full of stains, no minibar in the room for example. But for Fletcher standard, we think this hotel is the best this group has to offer. The rooms are spacious, quite darkly furnished and equipped with a fine flat screen TV, cupboard space, 2 reasonably comfortable chairs that match the wall desk and a very low coffee table that does not fit the chairs. The lighting is not strong in the room, in the winter when it is light late and dark early, we do not like that very much. There are limited coffee facilities and there is a kettle in the room. The room has two good beds. The bathroom is spacious and equipped with a nice rain shower, shampo and a hair dryer. But the water also splashes into the "dry" part of the bathroom. The bathroom is clean but only has 1 towel rail! The breakfast is fine and the restaurant scores a good 8. Wifi is good and free. We enjoyed a quiet and reasonably comfortable night here.

  Great hotel for hiking and meetings

  This hotel is located just outside Berg en Dal very close to the German border. Great place for hiking and also excellent for bussiness meetings. Parking can be a pain if there are a lot of meetings, but the rooms are kingsize, the breakfast selection excellent and the dinner options are great too. Free Wifi which you need as mobile phone reception is poor in this area. The scenery is marvellous, un-Dutch. Recommended.
