    The staff was helpful. Room was clean and neat. The hotel bed mattresses and pillows were average, could have been better. The domestic cleaning services were of good standards. Our baggage was secured inside the rooms.The space between sink and the toiletry sill ( splash zone ) was very narrow It was difficult to wash face.

    First of all the Hotel was on an Industrial Estate which we didn't expect from the photos.The service at reception was good but it went hill from there. The room was dusty everywhere and there was hair on the duvet. The pillow was awful and lumpy. On checking it the pillow had no pillow protector on and it was badly stained so my husband phoned down to reception and got me a brand new pillow. The breakfast in the morning was not the greatest and we were surprised that you couldn't even make toast. To make matters worse this hotel was more expensive than the hotels we normally stay in as it looked nice on the website.Very disappointing stay.

    Overall okay but it truly lacked in the maintenance. Broken lights for three days, unorganized breakfast, with missing spoons cups etc. Strong Kitchen smell in the lobby. The place needs some more attentive care. Located in an idustrial area with no entertainment

    Unfortunately, we were not lucky to encounter the right reception staff. At our arrival we were not even greeted. We had to attract the attention of the reception staff to be able to check in. Interesting approach, especially if the person is standing right in front of you.10 minutes after check in I approached the reception for a question and the same woman asked: "Are you checking out?"The rooms were very cold and there was no heating in the rooms, even with 11 degrees outside. We were told by the reception that the heating turns on automatically when the temperature outside reaches 20 degrees or lower. It did not happen.Breakfast: poor variety. No milk in the coffee machine and when asked staff instead of providing tell you: "Just use the creamer." If you ask for a yoghurt you are told they don't have any and you see them taking the same product to selected guests. Also, at our checkout not even a thank you and not even a goodbye.We've been in other Bastion hotels and all were great, with polite and friendly staff, service oriented and a regular breakfast service. And let's not forget the heating. So this hotel is an exception to the rule.Barendrecht is nice but the wrong hotel if you want to feel like you're a little bit respected. I hope this helps next travellers not to get in the same situation.

    So we booked this hotel with free cancellation and with no payment to be taken upon check in, the booking was for 2021, Yesterday the hotel tried to take the full payment my bank can prove this, I had them phone me and cancel my card immediately as the hotel should not be trying to take any kind of payment of the booking is payment upon arrival, They communicated with me by using the wrong name so we had no choice but to cancel this booking, For one this was a security risk I would not advise booking if they inform you it's payment on arrival as they will try to take payment, I've had to issue a new card and the hotel has no once apologised or fail to see their wrong doing, They passed the blame on to us the customer, Sorry but trust is a big thing and I don't trust this hotel, The rude receptionist and poor customer service on top of their payment error makes me question how this hotel has earned the stars it's been awarded, Sorry but this is clearly not performing to a high standard of customer service to get things wrong blame the customer get their name wrong time and time again, Is this the real life faulty towers, I dread to think what our stay would of been like and I very much look forward to booking another hotel
