    Historic building with good staff

    This hotel really ticks a lot of boxes. The building has history and is iconic. If possible arrive by watertaxi and splurge on one of their more luxureous rooms, like those in the former Director's offices. Love those! The staff is caring and thoughtful. Breakfast was pretty good. They even had a chef life cooking omelets.

    We've been here before and it's just such an institution. Very old worldly and slightly shabby until you step into your room. Very spacious and comfortable. Love the place.

    The location was ideal or our cruise ship. We arrived 2 days before departure and enjoyed dinner the first night in the hotel. We also loved the breakfast t the hotel and it was worth the extra cost. They had everything you would want for a European breakfast, cheese eggs, meats, fruit, yogurt, and the fresh orange juice machine was delicious. Our room was a triple and had 2 double beds. It had very high ceilings, which I love. It was simple but nice. The bathroom is totally modernized. We spent nights at the bar sharing a drink with family, and all in all it was a good choice.

    Our May stay with the Hotel New York was most enjoyable. Great location for our purposes. The staff was very friendly, caring, and professional which added to our enjoyment. Our evening meal in the restaurant was very good & the buffet breakfast was also. We "packaged" the meals with a Spido boat tour of the harbor + watertaxi transportation for added value. Kudos to management & staff. One helpful tip - before checking in - ask the very accommodating front desk staff for assistance with your luggage if needed.DaveB - stayed5/30/26

    I booked the luxury suite with a view on the river. A very spacious, bright suite with a fantastic view in an iconic building that has seen better days. All the basic comforts are there, but considering the luxury price of the room, I would have expected a bit more “luxury,” more special details, and more attention to detail. There is no minibar, no wine glasses, only 4 tea bags and coffee pods, no welcome drink, and I had to pay extra for a modest bouquet of flowers. A bit a shame, but all in all still a pleasant experience.
