3 star hotel 4 star + experience
13 Mar 2026
I booked this hotel through Secret Escapes and was expecting a fairly basic experience but how wrong I was! We had a room on the 4th floor with an amazing view of the Erasmus bridge and the Maas River - I can’t imagine a better view in Rotterdam. The room had a separate seating area with chairs and a table so you could sit with a drink and take in the view. Apart from that the room had all you could want and a bathroom with an actual bath. It was all spotlessly clean and well maintained, too.The breakfast buffet was varied and well stocked and even included Cava as an option which was quite a treat! The location was perfect with both a water taxi and water bus stop just outside and tram and metro stops within a few minutes walk so getting around was super easy. Special mention to the efficient and friendly staff as well. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Thon Hotel Rotterdam, responded to this review Dear Trea,I appreciate your thoughtful review. It is wonderful to hear that Thon Hotel Rotterdam met your expectations so well. The combination of stunning views over the Erasmus Bridge and the Maas River, along with a thoughtfully designed room, contributes to the comfort we aim to provide. Your mention of the breakfast selection and the convenient access to local transport highlights aspects many guests appreciate. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service is a priority, and it is rewarding to know these efforts enhanced your stay.I look forward to welcoming you back.Kind regards,Eric Slabbekoorn, General Manager

Not quite as in Norway

Room clean but very small if you order a single room. Very little space at the toilet getting to the closet. Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Thon Hotel Rotterdam, responded to this review Dear Jonar,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.It's wonderful to hear you found the room well-maintained during your stay. That said, I sincerely regret that some aspects of your accommodation did not meet your expectations. The building's unique architecture does lead to variations in room layouts, and I appreciate your understanding regarding spatial constraints.Nonetheless, I’m heartened your overall experience was a pleasant one. Many guests particularly enjoy the tranquil riverside location near Erasmus Bridge, which offers easy access to Rotterdam's architectural highlights while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.I hope to welcome you back on a future occasion for an even better experienceBest wishes,Eric Slabbekoorn, General Manager

Good stay at the Thon
07 Jul 2025
Nice hotel, excellent views of the river and bridge especially at night. Room clean, balcony is just fine to get some air and have a coffee. Large TV which has access to youtube, netflix, prime ect if you want to log in to your accounts. Also accepts USB drives to watch films. TV is not locked down, a real plus point for the hotel. Didnt have breakfast so cannot comment. Staff were excellent. No noise from other rooms. Fridge and coffee machine in roomEverything within walking distance. Supermarket 5 minutes walk which has everything you need. Closest restaurants tend to be more pricey need to head towards the station for larger selection. The market is certainly worth a visit Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Thon Hotel Rotterdam, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay.I am delighted to read about your wonderful experience at Thon Hotel Rotterdam. The panoramic vistas of the Erasmus Bridge and the Maas River make for an unforgettable setting, particularly during evening hours.
