  The Nightmare Over Christmas.

  We arrived at Hotel Andante at 16.30 on 29th December. I was given the key to our room. It was occupied by someone else.The receptionist apologised and gave us the key to a room in the annexe where we understood we would be staying instead.On 30th December late afternoon I went back to our room for a short sleep. 5 minutes later I received a knock on the door from a young man and a young woman. They did not introduce themselves. They said we needed to “ swop” rooms. I therefore assumed they were the guests from the original room because the word "swop" means to "exchange" and that they wanted our new room. I told them we would not be moving again and shut the door. They knocked again and said we should move out. I was not amused and closed the door again. For a third time they knocked. I again asked them to leave me alone. I closed the door. They knocked for a fourth time and then told me they were the managers and that the person in reception the day before should have told us we would have to move out after one night and that we would need to move immediately, there and then. I had received no contact during the day and my phone had been on all the time.This was incredibly inconvenient and atrocious organisation on the part of the hotel. My wife is disabled and was very distressed at having to move for a second time and without warning and with disruption. I requested just a one day refund for all the hassle and they refused. We did receive a bottle of Prosecco and 3 small bottles of fizzy water, though (value around 9 euros). Booking.com, who we booked through, also tried but to no avail. The hotel replied to our complaint but ignored the relevant points effectively getting around any liability. There was also spot of blood on one of the pillows (not a big deal as we simply used one of the other pillows) and the beds were only 2'9" (0.8m) wide. We needed to contact a vet during our stay who left a voicemail for us on our phone in Dutch. Neither receptionists on duty understood Dutch which was strange; one would have expected native speaking staff for health and safety reasons.So not a very happy experience.

  Hotel under refurbishment.

  I booked this hotel non-refundable through booking.com and was apprehensive after reading the reviews here. Fortunately the hotel is currently being refurbished and I got a nice spacious room in the annex building next door which had a new bathroom. All the ground floor rooms were closed for painting during my stay and the public areas in the main hotel building have already been refurbished. Breakfast was usual continental style, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, ham, bread and boiled eggs. A perfectly comfortable stay and the whole hotel should be up to spec by next summer as the refurbishment continues.

  We stayed in room 85 which was in the building next to the main hotel lovely room facing the street Bathroom was walk in shower had shampoo and soap and body cream Hairdryer Air con unit in room for those warmer days Wouldn't recommend this room to anyone that struggles with stairs as it's on the top floor and the stairs are quite steep Staff were friendly On the beach literally a min walk Close to transport and shops Will be back again

  While making a booking my wife asked the receptionist what time was the breakfast. The receptionist told us to pay first and then she will tell about the breakfast. Knowing the timings of the breakfast we wanted to book. We would not book the breakfast if it was too late. So we did not have an option. Once we booked the breakfast we went to the hotel room and we went to the receptionist to cancel the breakfast booking. The receptionist told her to come next day. We got the manager the next day and she could not cancel the breakfast. she used an excuse like we have to order food etc etc. But we tried to cancel it the same very day. So we could not cancel the breakfast. This is ridiculous. The hotel is messed up. once we pay for the breakfast that means we dont have an option to cancel it . the same day. We cancelled our appointment and went for the breakfast.

  Worst hotel experience ever!

  My friend and I booked a an upgraded room with twin beds but got a double room with no tea or coffee making facilities. We thought we could move the 2 beds but couldn't so had a terrible nights sleep. We asked to be moved to a new room which was available but we had to pack our things and wait until 3:30pm. When we returned we were sent to another room with a double bed. We then finally got moved to a room with 2 single beds but it was the equivalent of a hostel room. We were offered a free coffee only when we asked for it and then given a voucher for 1 free drink which we should have gotten anyway upon arrival. We did not get what we paid for and the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I do not reccommend this place and will not stay again!
