I booked a room in January 2026 through the hotel website and paid nearly 2000 dollars for a two week stay for March . I booked a hot deal. In February my husband was in the hospital in the United State for 10 days. I contacted the hotel immediately when the doctors said he could not travel. I asked the hotel to cancel the March reservarion and to reschedule when my husband was cleared to travel. I sent them the hospital discharge summary and also his four week daily infusion schedule. After several emails and a visit by a family member in The Hague, I was told they were sorry that my husband was ill, but could not reschedule or refund. Eventually they cancelled the reservation and did not refund or reschedule. BUYER BEWARE

We don’t have many options to stay in Rijswik, so usually come to the Bastion.On this occasion I had 2 issues. Firstly I was charged separately for a tourist tax - something that has never happened before.Secondly, in the morning they had run out of basic cooked breakfast items at 8am. Very poor

The thinnest and most uncomfortable mattress I ever slept on. I had to turn the mattress upside down so I wouldn’t feel the springs poking in my ribs. No spare pillows, no face washers, no tissues, no shampoo..no top up of coffee pods after arrival day. No information in the room about the menu of the hotel restaurant, so a very basic hotel.The floor of the entry stairs and entrance was filled with cigarette butts and people stood there smoking most of the time.You will have to ask reception for an electric kettle for your room and byo coffee and tea.

Our stay was disappointment. We stayed here for two nights. We had a standard twin room. Room is tiny. Bathroom even more so. And the bathroom is not practical at all. The shower door did not close properly so the whole floor got wet. There were no washcloth . I asked for them at reception but not available in the hotel. There was a coffee machine but not water cooker. I asked for this as well but also not available while they advertise this in the hotel. Price/quality was in no proportion. I advised the management about our experience and also advised that I was looking for a place in this region to stay quite frequently, but nothing was done to compensate , just a thank you for your feed back reply. And the promise to get more water cookers. So if you stay there please check this for me, as I will never ever go here again.

Horrible experience

Not recommend stay there, dark rooms with horrible design . Gym is small room with 2 cardio equipment and its all. Breakfast till 9 , after even they dont make free coffee or tea. ln last night when we stay it was crazy couple near who fight all night and they screamed all night , police came and it was during all night , after someone smoked marijuana and at 6 am alarm start working in our floor and rooms . only plus it was good breakfast .
