Great location all the amenities great price.Staff excellent and helpful. Easy acvess to train station whuch makes travel very easy.I would not hesitate to stay here again

The hotel is in a great location, close to the main square. The staff is really nice and helpful. However I personally went in a few months earlier to make sure that they could provide my sister a room that was easily accessible for her after she had knee surgery. I double checked a few days before also with the affirmation, that she was all set. When they checked in, her room was on the second floor with no lift, and the tub had a very tall wall that was difficult to get in and out of. Both of those situations made it very challenging for her. It would have been helpful if they had been more clear of what the options were prior to the stay. If you don't need anything, I am sure it's a fine place to stay.

Our daughter just started studying in Delft and we were there as a family sorting out her new house. I needed a hotel in the middle of the center so we could have fun evenings after the busy day and also where I could easily park the car. When I found Grand Museum hotel I saw some of the reviews weren't that positive. I chose it anyway and I must say I really disagree with the negative reviews. We had a suite in the Residence and it was absolutely lovely. I also really liked the Russian lady (so sorry I forgot her name) at the reception. She was super friendly and very helpful. The parking garage was very close by. You can book with breakfast but we didn't. There are many lovely bakeries around where you can have your breakfast in the morning. Even though breakfast room looked really cute.

Classic hotel with rooms which should not be allowed to use in summer

This hotel has four prominent features:- Historic, beautiful, classic- Large rooms- Wonderful staff- Unbearable (dis)comfort in some rooms in warm weather.I arrived when outside temperature was 38 oC. But my room felt warmer than outdoors, like a sauna. One reason is the very large windows which make the room a greenhouse. No windows could be opened, no AC available, no efficient air ventilation. It was so terrible that I was afraid to pass-out. I had to be nude and to take showers and let the water dry on the body to survive, plus use a temporary table fan that was offered. The temperature did not decrease much in the night. The next two days the outdoor temperature was 20-25 oC but the room temperature stayed at close to 30 oC. I could hardly sleep any of the 3 nights I stayed there. If I were a health inspector in Delft I would prohibit the use of the rooms toward the street in summertime.The staff had an awful time trying to reduce the irritation of the guests. But all staff members were absolutely wonderful, despite complaints. It was one of the most friendly and service-minded staff I have met in my life.The problem can be solved by introducing AC and make windows possible to open. I am sure this can be made without violating the cultural heritage. I guess that the windows were possible to open when the building was new.Location was good, very near the Old Church and not far to the new church with the many restaurants around it. The building is classic and beautiful. Other than the comfort, the room I had was large, probably approx 30 m2, with a good writing desk and an extra sofa. Very soft twin beds with stiff pillows. A big problem was that the lift stopped working after my first night. Breakfast is served in another building 100 m away, not so fun if it rains.I can imagine staying there in the cold half of the year, but never again in summertime.

This is not the first time that we have stayed at the Grand Museum and it unmatched quality is what persuades us to go back.The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with each having its own, unique, Delft pottery wall decoration (see image) and the staff make you feel as though nothing is too much trouble if it improves your stay.The reception area is as spacious as most hotels' lounges and we took advantage of this on a couple of occasions to just sit and relax with a coffee or a drink.Breakfast is first class - the scrambled eggs are particularly recommended and the orange juice is the freshest you will ever have - it is squeezed while you wait! Similarly the pancakes are cooked while you wait, although you do have to push the buttons!
