  Unfortunately this has been a very poor experience. I am travelling on my own as a single woman: when I arrived I was upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was very nice, but woken up at 10 pm by a man trying to get into my hotel room as he had been given the same key as me. Fortunately, he was lovely and just as horrified as I was, but it could have been a very different story. Totally unacceptable. Now, this afternoon, I have come back from being out since 9.30, and my room hasn't been serviced. It is 2pm. I really don't understand this level of shoddy service.

  Stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Auckland. We used the valet parking for our hire car for one night which was around $35NZD as I recall. The hotel is located right in the heart of the commercial district and easy walking distance to the Sky Tower, ferry terminal and Britomart rail station.The room was very nicely appointed and felt quite luxurious. We did get a bit of noise from the street outside but it wasn't too bad. Breakfasts had a good slection and filled us up for the day.We enjoyed our stay here, the staff were friendly and we were well located for all of the main attractions in Auckland.

  Elegant, unique hotel in great location with friendly and helpful staff.

  Fable is a jewel in downtown Auckland. A unique and beautifully presented hotel with modern amenities delivered with the charm of yesteryear. We arrived early as we had to return our rental car and wanted to leave our bags. No problem. Returning for check in we were greeted by Rahul who with his beaming smile and warm manner could have been welcoming us to his own home. He had already installed our bags in our room and nothing was too much trouble. Refreshing apple tea was offered in Fables' signature bone china cups as a welcome. When we discovered a mix up in rooms which was our travel agents mistake, not the hotel's, Rahul sprang into action again moving our bags for us and ensuring everything was as we wanted. This guy is the epitome of what a hospitality professional should be. Room was meticulous in its presentation.Dinner that evening in Cooke's couldn't be faulted. Tumur's service was professional, charming and attentive. The food we could not fault. Hubby's steak was cooked to perfection and the black forest flan was worth putting another notch in my jeans for.Wharf precinct easy walking. Plenty of eateries to choose from. Great location.5 out of 5 from us. Sorry we could only stay 2 nights but will be back. Would definitely recommend to others.   “Memorable Stay with Warm Hospitality”

  We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. I visited with my husband, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming. The hotel has a lovely boutique-style charm, and our room was beautifully presented—comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed.One of the highlights of our stay was the dining experience. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and the food was absolutely delightful. The atmosphere was pleasant, and everything was well-prepared and enjoyable.A special mention goes to Sam, who hosted us during both meals. His service was exceptional and genuinely caring. He truly made our experience even more memorable with his professionalism and warm attitude.Overall, we had an amazing time and felt very well looked after throughout our stay.   Beware of mismanagement on several levels

  Not only are the stairs a hindrance just to get to the receptionist desk, but they took my credit card as a deposit to the room, and it’s been over a week and they still haven’t returned it to my card. The staff was very nice but it seems as though they haven’t been properly trained to greet guests or offer guest information such as hours or how to work the elevator. Something is missing in this establishment and it is Managment. Someone fell on the stairs and although an incident report is supposedly in the works, they never called or reached out to get a report. Stay clear of this hotel unless you like being tortured.
