  A wonderful spot!!!

  We totally love this place...have stayed a few times before with previous owners... and best of all the dog is allowed. There is even a beautiful fenced in huge area with trees to take for runs off lead. Hania.. ( owner) is lovely... friendly and helpful. The units are quiet in a beautiful rural settling and although not super modern, They are very homely and comfortable with everything you need to make a meal if you want. YOU would not find a cleaner place !!!! Just spotless......the bed and bed sheets were super comfy and its very warm with good heating. I thoroughly recommend Longbourne lodge and excellent for families with heaps of play area for kids and handy to Dunedin. .Definitely stay if we need a night up that way..suzi. invercargill

  OMG this had to be the best motel we have ever stayed at. First when you drive in the place is beautiful plenty of space to basically run around/walk. The cabins are divided by a carport access to the cabin from the carport is a side door, there is a ranch-door out the front with a front pouch attached and a ramp for wheelchairs/trolley. Inside is 2 bedrooms 1 with queen size bed and the other bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a kitchen with a nice size fridge/freezer and a spacious lounge with a tv and a daybed and 2 couches. As for the bathroom omg it is huge and very spacious, the shower has a fold-down seat and you can take a wheelchair into the shower if needed. We were a family of 3 adults and 1 child so we definitely had plenty of space and we stayed 3 night so we had a great rest before we move on. It was close to Dunedin didn't take long to travel to town but the bonus for us was we were allowed to have out dog and she loved the dog park that they have set up at the motel plenty of space for her to run around and investigate. The whole place is definitely nice and clean which reflexes on the owner and staff as they show that they definitely take pride in there motel. We do recommend if you are looking for somewhere nice and quite to stay look no further.

  Relaxing in beautiful surrounds at Longbourne Lodge

  Longbourne Lodge is a true home away from home, set in beautiful gardens with a stunning mountain backdrop. Our 6yo and 4yo loved running around the expansive, well-maintained grounds, playing on the swing, and checking out the giant chess set. Managers Hania and Shen are absolute gems and were unfazed when our 4yo needed a bedding change. It’s such a peaceful, family-friendly place to stay, and we can’t wait to visit again!   Sadly not as peaceful as we expected

  We booked due to the lovely peaceful surroundings, sadly was not the case, whilst the setting was as we expected unfortunately there was a large group that thought they could take over, could not park in our carport without asking for them to move, vehicles parked over our view and about 20 visitors in the next unit in the evening, they were up at 5am speaking rather loudly, and the reviving of a car at 6am. The manager told us the visitors were important as they have a car rally and had booked for the weekend. Would we stay again????? While we’re pleased you enjoyed the setting, we’re disappointed to hear the stay did not meet your expectations due to the presence of other guests.As a solution, we did offer to relocate you to a quieter area of the lodge where you would have had a more enjoyable stay, however, this option was declined by you at the time.
