    We stayed here one night after we had lunched at Brick Bay Winery. We were in Unit 1, and it was unexpectedly good. Very spacious, more than this couple required. Water pressure in the shower was great (a priority for us). A very quiet location - no road noise, and no sounds from the bar (the accommodation is in separate buildings). Sure the place is a bit dated, but value for money we were extremely happy.

    Location is excellent , just off the main road . This accommodation is part of the pub but the rooms are over away from pub. Pub does have meals and happy hour. Room is clean and roomy. I feel it’s need a new master bed as you roll down into your partner. The carpet is old but adds to the style. Reception staff were lovely.

    We stayed at The Salty Dog Inn for 4 nights with our birding group. The grounds are well-kept but the rooms could use some attention. The room was a decent size but the carpeting looked quite grungy and the beds were not very comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side and when you took a shower water went all over the floor as there was no way to contain it. There was a hairdryer holder on the wall but no hairdryer and no amenities like tissues or shampoo. If I were booking my own lodging I would have chosen a different hotel.

    Outside looking quaint, inside very tired, needs an update. Bed was very uncomfortable. Pub was full of locals and outside on terrace a lot of smokers, felt a bit odd to be here as a tourist.We stopped here on the way to bay of islands but snells beach wasn’t for us
