February 2026 - Poor, no high standard decisions at this Hotel, The staff were all good, just a shame the owners are cheap!!2026 - Hotel Armitage Tauranga, is a run-down dump!!The owners charge high rates for low end standardsIf you want to stay at a luxurious hotel, ... Hotel Armitage is NOT the place. You will not get anything luxurious here! Wake up call to your decorator!!... Mate, what is wrong with you??Your decor choices are absolutely horrific! STOP!Your choices make this hotel look cheap and hideousYour plastic crap plants, weird glass jars & shell crap, hideous light shades in reception, your eye gouging headboard lamps!!.. Someone is lying to you, you are not doing a good jobThe picture of the pool, is a deceptive lie. The photo is old. In Feb 2026 the paint is flaking just like the owners, total flakesYour hotel is for people looking for cheap accommodation, for Backpackers or HOSTEL patrons, or YMCA! Noise level is awesome you get hear it all here, peoples conversations, the car park, the motorways, yip all the noise!! Absolutely No sound proofing hereIf you are looking for excellent accommodation, now, in 2026, don't look here! ... keep looking!!!Do not waste your hard earned money at Hotel Armitage, Tauranga.

    Awesome team, great hotel

    rating14 Aug 2025

I have been staying at the Hotel Armitage for a number of years now, I travel up to Tauranga for work. Tiffany (GM) and her team are always extremely welcoming, the food fresh and the rooms are large, clean and modern. The hotel has been going through renovations, and they have kept the disruption to a minimum! It is looking smart, fresh and modern. I highly recommend the Armitage, looking forward to the next trips in October and November!

Disappointing poor response from Hotel Chef and Bar man. Changed attitude to stay.

    rating22 Jun 2025

I enjoyed the hotel until they overcharged me, when I e mailed regarding a reimbursement of $3.50, I was informed that I had been undercharged and they expected reimbursement, then I received a contradictory passive aggressive e mail from Simon. This is a disgrace behaviour towards a business traveller or any customer. The rooms were ok after renovations, still missing little extras that the business traveller would expect, however the bathrooms were very clean but outdated. It was very clean and the food was very tasty. Most of the staff were lovley, however when challenged Simon the chef and barman, who consequently closed the bar early before the gazetted time, began accusing the customer, I am aware that the customer is not always right, however I also know when I am being overcharged, the stroppyness of his responses, are not professional and quite unexpected for the huge amount of $3.50. Conference only hotel.

    rating30 Mar 2025

I wrote a long review only for it to disappear when I went to add photos! So, another try.Very much a conference hotel. Nice reception and receptionist. Renovation work going on nearby and in the bar. The restaurant appeared to have been renovated but the furniture is cheap conference basic and it’s a big boring area. The room is oddly renovated for a conference room. No power socket anywhere near the desk. You have to plug-in your electrics above the fridge. The smallest and oldest TV I have seen in a hotel in ages.At dinner only 2 other guests, but 6 others at breakfast. Dinner average. Breakfast had great eggs but the tiny sausages and undercooked bacon were not great. Sarah Armitage, General Manager at Hotel Armitage and Conference Centre, responded to this review Dear Coylum, thank you very much for staying with us. We're glad you liked our receptionist and breakfast eggs. Your comments about the room renovations and amenities are precious and will help us improve. Thank you for your insights. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again when more renovation work will be donA- Team
