Great location and well equipped if you are on a moderate budget (not cheap but not outrageous either)

Good location and our room had stunning views of Mount Cook and parking was 10 paces from our room. Room was clean and tidy if a little small and had twin beds which was not a problem. Apart from tea and coffee making facilities there was little else apart from a communal kitchen in a space above us. Not an issue as we ate at the main resort hotel. Would highly recommend

The room itself was small and basic. But what the booking information did not mention is that there is a large lounge with full kitchen available to all guests. Although there are multiple eating options in the village, it would definitely be possible to save money by cooking all your own food while staying here. Service was friendly and effective. Sound insulation just ok but sleep quality was fine.

The service is very good. The staff is very helpful.The rooms are very small but they are very clean. The rooms facing main road are big and has great view specially if you are lucky to have snowfall. The restaurant are close to the hotel.

Bad experience at Mt. Cook Lodge

Unlike our experience 8 years ago, the level of incompetence and misinformation across the board was mind-boggling. We were repeatedly given incorrect information, as to whether breakfast was included (told on 2occasions by 2 separate people that it was; it wasn’t but they offered to sell us their breakfast buffet for $45/person). We were told to book the Tasman glacier boat for 4:45; we tried to do that immediately only to find out there were no available spots, so we had to scramble with 5 minutes to spare, so some people in our group did not have time to get proper footwear or hats. We were not told until we were on the bus to the glacier that there was a 25 minute walk at the beginning and end. The bartender tried to put salt on the rim of the glass of whiskey my son-in-law ordered; another waiter didn’t not know that Pinot noir was a red wine. The buffet at dinner was visually appealing, but the food was quite bland. I would stay somewhere else, but there are no other options in the park.
