    We picked this motel because its convenient location and family friendly layout. Definitely disappointed. A bit dated, the deco gives the feeling of staying at grandma's house, but totally satisfied as it has everything travellers would need.

    Great value, location convenient, had everything we needed. A little dated but clean and serviced. Friendly staff who are willing to help. Fantastic hot showers in our room, great after a day off sight seeing. 20 minutes walk to great shopping centre and plenty of food places. 5 min walk to the park. Only complaint was road noise, especially on Saturday night. Good base for Christchurch sightseeing and beyond.

    We picked Argyle on the Park to stay as part of our family school holiday trip due to its fair pricing and fantastic location. As our son was running in the Christchurch Kids Marathon it was an excellent choice. Being able to walk to the start line through Hagley Park was invaluable. Rooms were neat and tidy, laid out well with a room for the kids and the adults bed in the lounge. A fully functioning kitchen was greatly appreciated as we were able to prepare meals each day as opposed to relying on eating out. Staff were friendly and helpful, each day our room was tidied to a very high standard. It really felt like a home away from home. Additionally having a heatpump in the room (especially being able to use cooling as it was very warm during our stay) was a lifesaver, as was having Netflix for the kids to entertain themselves.

    This Motel was/is fabulous. Has everything one needs in a motel surroundings...room was fantastic, facilities provided excellent and close to a 24/7 shopping and bus route to Wakefield Mall near by not a problem at all. Close to Hagley Park and Cathedral Square, Bus Interchange etc...quiet comfortable staying...thanking the host so much.would recommend to anyone to come stay

    We chose this motel primarily for its location near to the tranz-alpine station. The owner provided us with a free lift to the station on the morning of our departure. However also located on the edge of Hagley park which provided an easy and scenic walk down to the city. In the locality a number of restaurants and shops (walkable) and a large shopping centre.The apartment itself was large with separate bedroom and kitchenette area. Comfortable, clean, spacious and well equippedThe owners were friendly and helpful.This was our first stop in New Zealand and a great introduction to the country
