Location

This hotel enjoys a central location, only 3 km from Waiau Ferry Bridge, and is an ideal base for guests travelling throughout South Island. This elegant property is situated about 10 minutes' drive from the quaint village of Hanmer Springs and 10 km from Hanmer Forest Park. The Hanmer Springs ski area is 15 km and the hotel is just 30 km from Mount Lyford Alpine Resort. It is 1h30 north of Christchurch and Christchurch International Airport is 185 km away.

Facility

The resort welcomes guests in a 2-storey building with a lift and 24 non-smoking rooms. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop.     Ultimate relaxing place. Very spacious room including a big spa and magnificent mountain view. Lovely staff, very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast.

    It is a lovely relaxing place with beautiful views, the rooms are huge and beds are comfy. Love the bathroom but floor does get slippery. I would like them to add a microwave to the rooms so you could heat food if your wanting something like as we found the restaurant quite expensive. We booked through booking.com and I was sure I pressed breakfast included but it seems it wasn't so check if that's what you are hoping for otherwise breakfast would be $40 which I find expensive for what it is. The spa bath and pool are great.

    Grab one for my son and partner. Let lodge know to expect them not me as t was a birthday gift. They upgraded them and put birthday balloons on the bed. They loved the room, the spa, the service and the food

    Spectacular rooms to match the veiw. Very spacious and comfortable and also a huge bathroom. It is a little out of Hanmer Springs, so be prepared to relax. It is quiet and there is a lounge and bar you can hang out at, if you want. The lift was not working, so we had to schlep our suitcases down a few flights of stairs, and the gym was also closed off while we were there.The restaurant is o.k, but after asking specific questions about one dish, it arrived and we found it was not as described and we would not have ordered it. A little better knowledge for the wait staff would be appreciated.

    I wanted to like this place but, I was very disappointed in every aspect of the experience. It is a 90’s vintage hotel that seems to have outlived its heyday. The food was not good, the spa services weren’t available but for a few days a week and it seemed very much like a ghost town. It’s located outside of town which is fine, but the quality of the food make you seek alternatives. No one is at the reception desk before 8:45 am or after 5 in the afternoon.
