Location

This city hotel is located in the heart of Christchurch’s central business district and adjacent to the shopping districts of Cashel Mall and High Street. Christchurch’s new entertainment and dining precinct, SOL Square, is 200 m away. Cathedral Square is 500 m from the hotel, whilst the Arts Centre and Gallery lie 750 m away. The Antarctic Centre can be reached in 20 minutes by public transport, connections to which lie just 5-minutes from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 12 single rooms and 271 double rooms, which are located on 7 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing.     Two single beds, very small area, no cabinets, not well designed especially in the bathroom the bath mat gets the water and gets wet as it's a shower curtain with down slope floor, not a place to hang your towels etc in the bathroom. The floor doesn't look inviting to be on your bare feet for the shower. One plus, close to the newly opened stadium and central and the price is right.     We stayed here for four nights. The bed is fantastic, the shower was really good and the breakfast was nice. The problems we had was on our first day our room wasn’t made up until after 3. The next day we came back around 3.30 and our room wasn’t made not made up again. THREE times we went to reception to get our room made up. In the end I went to see the manager. After my husband spoke with him they assured us it would be made up early. We asked for it to be made up before 2pm. We are both sure that they forgot to do our room because our room was hidden by another door. The manager asked if we would like to move and as we only had two nights left we said no. The manager gave my husband a free beer for all the stress and trouble that we had. Really a free beer. You would think we may have got at least a free meal. The room itself has no shelves to put anything on. Great location though.     Worst food eaten in New Zealand

    Both my partner and I chose the Thai Red Curry with Pork. The food was tasteless and swimming in fat as the pork they used was mostly fat and little meat. We both left most of it and when we complained the girl just laughed and proceeded to give us the bill. I wished after that I had taken the complaint further.This was the worst food we had eaten in the 29 days spent in New Zealand. Definitely avoid.
