Art Deco Weekend 4 nights stay February 2026

    rating02 Mar 2026

At $740 per night it was seriously overpriced, a convenient location and good clean room, but for that price there should have been: a fridge big enough to hold at least one wine bottle and have an ice tray. No plates, coffee mugs, cutlery or wine glasses. No bedside clock, USB port, bathroom heater, or toilet brush. No mini bar, bathtub, bathroom heater or heated towel rail. Reception desk often unmanned. We asked for directions to the railway station. Receptionist didn’t know. We found it was just across the road from the hotel! Overpriced and over rated.

    Super Nice Hotel

    rating22 Feb 2026

What a wonderful hotel in the middle of Napier. The room was excellent with great bedding and clean and comfortable additions. Everything appeared to be updated and in great order. It is within walking distance to shops and eateries and an easy stroll to the beach and attractions. Purchased on site parking in underground garage. All in all we would return here again when next in Napier

    Lovely hotel, friendly staff.

    rating19 Feb 2026

We spent 2 nights here on our trip to New Zealand. It's a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was included in our stay. It consisted of a hot and cold buffet with a good selection of food for the size of hotel. Much of the decoration is in the Art Deco style which is a nice touch. The only issue for us was that the room safes don't work. The hotel has secure parking which is chargeable. It was a short walk to the sea front and town centre, so very conveniently situated.

    Perfect

    rating11 Feb 2026

We chose to stay here during our Napier visit! Most of the art deco hotels in downtown were very expensive so it was nice to find this hotel at a more reasonable rate. It’s in a modern nice hotel building however they spent the time decorating the inside of the hotel with art deco styling so you still feel like you are in Napier. We also chose this because it was super close to the downtown. The hotel was easy to stay at & walk to the downtown of Napier with an easy 10 minute walk. So it made a nice base to leave our car at the hotel & walk to the downtown close by. We didn’t need to pay for parking & grabbed a spot literally right next to the hotel along the road & was able to leave it there for the day of our stay. The room was massive complete with a nice mini kitchen nook & generous sized bathroom. Room was very clean & had all the amenities we needed. The hotel was always quiet & we had a nice sleep here. If you want to stay in Napier but not pay the downtown premium, have a cozy clean room while being close enough to enjoy all the downtowns offering- Swiss Belhotel Napier hotel is perfect for you!

One of the Worst We Have Ever Experienced.

    rating29 Jan 2026

This hotel did nothing but dissapoint from the start. I can only be thankful that we only had three nights at this place. The hotel falls far short of the amenities described on the web site. The site lists amenities such as a bar (closed from when we arrived Sunday until about 5:00pm on the Tuesday), only open for a limited time one of the three days of our stay. As everything was closed, there was no place to purchase a can of soda, a beer or even a sandwich. When I asked at the front desk I was told that I need to go the supermarket across the street in the pouring rain. Restaurant was only open for an overpriced buffet which was nothing more than breads, a few pastries and some yogurt. Everything else had to be ordered. The door to the gym was locked for the three days of our stay. When I asked at the desk the clerk didn't know why!Our one bedroom suite consisted of an underfurnished room with a small table and two tiny loveseats; no lamps, end tables etc. The shower door leaked and flooded the bathroom, out into the hall due to the 1/2" gap between the door and wall; great design. Lighting was limited to a tacky ceiling fixture and 6 pot lights, all on one switch; you get full brightness or total darkness.I'm not sure how a property can represent themselves as four (or on some sites) five star accomodations when all you offer is less than a typical 2 star property. Avoid this joke of a hotel at all costs.
