    A very convenient place to stay as it is centrally located and close to the InterIsland and Bluebridge ferries.

    We stayed at the Ibis prior to boarding the Blue Bridge ferry early in the morning. It is very clean, tidy, convenient and has a nice restaurant where we were able to have good food with excellent service.

    We are used to staying at the IBIS in Europe. The NZ version is superior. Larger rooms, better luggage storage, a fridge (missed that in Europe) but still with the attached restaurants. There is a desk in room with good showers. The bed was comfortable and has good charging spots near the bed. Excellent WIFI. We booked 2 nights.The location was great, right near cable car, town centre and harbour walks. It is close to express airport bus stop and also the buses that took us to Weta Studios. It's isn't far from supermarkets and we could buy some basics to put in the fridge.Ibis Wellington was able to handle later checking-in (we were after 8pm). Also, thank you very much to them for their assistance when I left my kindle behind and they managed to forward it to my next booked hotel.The only negative was that the air conditioning in our room was noisy. In the end we turned it off because it wasn't hot - and, I will say, that on our NZ trip we had hotels that didn't have air conditioning at all. Be careful of the under-shelf near bed where I accidently left my kindle but that was my mistake not theirs.

    We’ve stayed in a number of Ibis properties but this one just didn’t hit the mark of basic but okay. The carpet was ripped in places, the bed was overly soft, both the bedroom and bath spaces were oddly cramped, and many of the TV channels were unavailable due to poor reception, according to the message on the screen. “Threadbare” might be an apt summary.On the positive side, the underground parking was good as was the location - right near the wharf.
