Location

The location is opposite to the waterfront and Te Papa provides fantastic harbour views, whilst being in the heart of the city, and within walking distance of diverse shopping, dining, entertainment and nightlife. Wellington International airport is approximately 10 km from the hotel.

Facility

The complex has a lift and features 165 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park.     The good • Easy walk to the convention centre.The not so good • The entire hotel is oddly under-lit. I understand they’re going for a moody aesthetic, but it crosses the line from atmospheric into genuinely uncomfortable. • The bed is well past its use-by date — it sinks the moment you lie down. • No master light switch. You’ll be hunting down seven individual switches before you can go to sleep. • No proper work desk — just a small circular coffee table with two chairs. • I was assigned an accessible room without requesting one, and wasn’t informed of this at check-in. • If breakfast is included, don’t expect much of a buffet — a few fruits, breads, and pastries, with an otherwise à la carte menu. Barista coffee is an additional $6. • The room feels dated throughout.OverallQT Wellington is a small boutique hotel that tries hard to stand apart — and it does, just not always in the right ways. It suits a niche traveller after something different, but if you’re looking for a traditional luxury hotel with all the expected comforts, this isn’t it.

    Very dark and dinghy - okay if you like sculptures of red skeletons and skulls all over the place. Room not particularly welcoming - not very clean and after one of us had a shower we put on black rather rough feeling towelling robe to find a pair of dirty pants in the pocket!!! Obviously they do not refresh them when used!!!!!!! Informed manager who offered us breakfast the following morning.......We would not recommend this hotel to anyone - unless you are a vampire lower or Norman Bates lol QT Wellington, Other at QT Wellington, responded to this review Hi Pauline,I'm sorry to hear about the issues that impacted your stay, it is definitely not the standard we expect to be able to provide.     Upscale, Not Snotty!

    The QT was our intro to New Zealand and what a perfect way to begin our adventure, a realization of a dream trip to this fabulous country. This hotel was upscale but not snotty. The staff was welcoming, the rooms comfortable and the environment so intriguing with fabulous artwork throughout. Plus, the owner's "pet" hippos made you smile! Oh, the location also was great. P.S. little smile - I noticed - lobby painting of family eating french fries with USA coca cola and heinz ketsup.     Expensive but very cool room with a great location

    Fantastic Hotel! Very swank room, with art by Dside. Great views, great bar (serves food) great art, great location. Te Papa is directly across the street.Paid $300 a night, however, which is pretty steep. Parking was NOT included. You can pay $50 a night for the hotel valet, or $30 a night to park in the Te Papa lot.The service was fantastic, with one exception. Maybe the dude was having a bad day, but he was disinterested to the point of being rude.Again - great bar. Glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the feedback about our staff, everyone does has a bad hair day here and there but we will certainly address it.

    This is a great hotel quite quirky but with amazing professional staff who go out of their way to help. The food is delicious and definitely worth it.
