Could Do a Lot Better To Reach Average!

    rating14 Aug 2022

We have stayed in many Best Western’s but the Best Western Plus Hotell Hordaheimen was not at all what we expected. The hotel has been modernised and so nothing like the hotel portrayed in the photos which are years out of date. Old photos show easy chairs in the rooms, there are non.Description states tea and coffee facilities in the room there are non.Suspect that breakfast is being reheated from day before. Breakfast starts at 7am and yet at 7am on the 15th all of the serving dishes were semi full with what should have been piping hot freshly produced food but it was just above room temperature. The cast iron dishes weren’t even warm. The bread which was already cut open from the day before still had an open stale end on it which had gone a bit crispy. It certainly was nothing for the hotel to be proud about. Our first two nights were in a room on the 3rd floor and we had the misfortune on our 2nd night to be woken up by dirty water gurgling out of our shower drain and filling up the shower then running over the bathroom floor. The room was stinking and we had to vacate early in the morning and wait for an alternative room to be ready. Our 2nd room on the 5th floor was much better although still no tea tray or easy chairs. During the evening It seemed as if the hotel’s public bar was in the adjacent room judging by drunken shouting and banging on the walls which I’m sure the ‘adolescents’ thought was great fun! This went on until about midnight. It’s a pity the hotel doesn’t police antisocial behaviour for the benefit of other guests. As regards the dirty bathroom, my wife did ask the reception desk to refund our second night, twice, but this appears to have fell on conveniently deaf ears.We did like one thing about the hotel and that was the comfortable beds but poor customer service and the food offering has definitely let you down, badly!I would have preferred to have written a much a ‘kinder review’ but in all honesty it wasn’t possible, some of the basics just fell way too short of the mark!

    Terrible experience!

    rating05 Aug 2022

One of the worst stay experiences:- Elizabeth at reception was one of the worst host that we ever met, very rude and clearly racist! We have never seen anyone that unprofessional in the hospitality industry- water logging in the bathroom. No one cares to even check and fix - recently refurbished, however poorly managed Will never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone! Rated 1 out of 5

    The most amazing bed!

    rating26 Dec 2019

Having read some of the other reviews on this site I think the rooms here are a bit hit and miss and we just got lucky. We only booked a 'standard' room but it was lovely. It had a sofa and comfy chair with a coffee table and it overlooked the street below which had gorgeous Christmas lights. The bed was the best hotel bed we've ever slept in.The hotel is centrally located. Breakfast was excellent however on weekend mornings it got very busy and there weren't enough tables for the number of guests. It was also quite noisy on Friday and Saturday night as the room wasn't double glazed so we got all the noise from the street. This is however a lovely hotel which was excellent value for money.

Friends, an evening on the town with show, dinner and hotel accommodation.

The hotel is great, newly refurbished as the oldest hotel in Bergen. Nice reception staff and a breakfast which was incredibly good. This hotel is highly recommended if you want a quiet environment. Centrally located within walking distance of the city center.

Located just a block from the water across from Old Town and an easy walk. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was enjoyable and coffee was available throughout the day.Our room was very clean and comfortable.
