    Noise from lobby

    rating05 Jun 2026

We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the airport, as we had an early departure the following morning. Unfortunately, there was significant noise coming from the lobby on Saturday evening. A group of guests were playing the grand piano and singing loudly, and the noise could be clearly heard from our room, which was located directly above the lobby. We contacted the front desk about the issue, but were told that this was permitted because it was a Saturday evening. While we understand that some guests may enjoy the atmosphere, we were disappointed that no consideration was given to guests who were looking for a quiet night's rest or who had early flights the next day. Kristine Mjelde, Gjestetjenester/resepsjon at Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm really sorry to hear that the noise from the lobby affected your stay, especially since you were looking for a quiet night before your early flight. I understand how frustrating that can be, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We will from now on only keep the piano open during mid day hours.I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your room and found our location convenient. I'll make sure to pass on your feedback regarding the noise to our team so we can work on improving this aspect for future guests. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back and provide a better experience next time.Best wishesKristine MjeldeHotel Manager

    Loud music all night!!

    rating09 Nov 2025

It was A very nice room and hotel, the brekfast was good. But when we were going to sleep, the hotel has hosted A party and the music was very loud. The music played all night, so it was hard to sleep. It was sad because it was A very nice hotel. Kristine M, at Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Åsbjørn. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the room and breakfast, but I’m truly sorry to learn that the loud music from the party affected your sleep. That’s definitely not how we want our guests to feel during their stay. We always try our very best to allocate guests away from any events they are not attending, I am sorry that we failed this time. Your feedback is important, and we will use it to improve our guest experience. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the future for a more restful visit.Best wishesKristine MjeldeHotel Manager

Nice hotel, but there's a lot of room for improvement

    rating18 Oct 2025

I spent a week at this hotel at the beginning of October 2025.Pros:- Nice lobby, breakfast and reception area.- The room I initially got was way smaller than advertised on Booking.com. When I mentioned it to the receptionist (Nathalia, I believe), she offered me a room upgrade with no additional charge, which I really appreciated :-).- The deluxe room was spacious and clean.- Good breakfast. Not superb, but good. For it to be really good, they would need to offer guests real, freshly pressed orange juice, more choice in hot dishes (meats and vegetables) and fruit.- Seeing that it was raining almost all the time, they offered me an umbrella upon checkout ;-). Very nice gesture.- During the day, it was super easy to get to the airport via tram (the tram ride took about 10 minutes).Cons:- No shuttle service from the airport to the hotel for late-night arrivals. I arrived after midnight and taxis are extremely expensive (50€ to 60€) for a 9-minute drive from the airport to the hotel, seeing that there is no public transport service at this hour. - As I was suffering from severe back pain that week, the 15-minute walk (mostly in the rain) to and fro the nearest bus stop / tram stop was extremely inconvenient, especially as the hotel is on a hill. All in all, it takes about 40 to 50 minutes to get into Bergen city centre.- The room decor in the standard and the deluxe rooms is very drab and sad (dull colours, somewhat outdated, the standard rooms have no pictures at all hanging on the wall), in contrast to the nice, stylish decor of the lobby and breakfast room.- The television reception was often unstable and didn't have any dedicated English speaking channels. Also, it was not possible to connect to Netflix or any other online streaming service. That was really disappointing.- There is no safe in the room, as I would normally expect in a 4-star hotel. Kristine M, at Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg, responded to this review Hi Esther,Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us! We're thrilled you enjoyed our lobby, breakfast, and the upgrade from Nathalia – I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to her.I appreciate your feedback about the room decor and amenities; it’s valuable for us as we strive to improve. I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience with transportation and the TV reception during your stay. We'll definitely take your comments into consideration. We hope to welcome you back soon for an even better experience!Warm regards,Kristine MjeldeHotel Manager

    Below standard

    rating04 Sept 2025

Standard room has no tea, coffee, kettle nor hair conditioner. Broken clothes hooks. Black mold in corner of the shower. Cushioned chairs in room and at breakfast have many stains. I'm truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We take your feedback seriously and will certainly use it to improve our services and facilities.
