    Could be better

    rating24 May 2026

The advertised double bed was infact 2 single beds pushed together. The matresses had stains in them.Good location, nice breakfast.Room looking a little tierd Guri Vada, Daglig leder at First Hotel Millennium, responded to this review Dear Cruiser59815703194, Thank you so much for your feedback. It seems like you had a Twin room instead of one of our double rooms. Since I don't have your full name I am not able to check your booking. We change matresses continuesly, so our houskeeping mananger check all the rooms every month. We are waiting for a full renovation for our hotel now, and really look forward to welcome you back after our 100% Glow Up!Hope to see you again. Warm regards,Guri VadaGeneral Manager

    Overpriced and Underwhelmed

    rating04 Sept 2025

This hotel is located well--close to tram, bus, and not too far from the main train station. However, the price for this hotel doesn't match its facilities. It offers a decent free breakfast, but many things are unsafe. There is water on our bathroom floor from a leaking sink, the elevator slams shut on arms (the leg level stops it), the hair dryer doesn't work, cleaning is available upon request--not the usual everyday--but that doesn't mean you won't see supplies all over the halls EVERYDAY, and the rooms and hallways smell musty and old. All of this for the price of about $450 a night, which is usually a nicer hotel in the US. Guri Vada, Daglig leder at First Hotel Millennium, responded to this review Dear Rae W, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you liked our very central location here in the heart of Oslo, and our full breakfast buffet as well. The routine with cleaning during the stay is an environmental friendly measure. So many guests don't feel the need to get the room cleaned during a two night stay, so that is why we leave it up to our guests to decide if it is needed or not. We save the planet for a lot of cleaning agents and water this way. Our prices vary with demand, so sometimes you pay 120 dollar pr. night and sometimes you pay 500 dollars pr. night. It also depends on how early you book. The earlier you book and also if you choose low season, the prices will be lower. You are right that our hotel is not the newest hotel in town, and we are very excited about the future plans for our hotel and hope to be able to share the news soon. We hope to welcome you back in the future and wish you a wonderful day!Warm regards,Guri VadaGeneral Manager

A Sauna with Room Service – My Stay at First Hotel Millennium, Oslo

    rating18 Jul 2025

To the Management of First Hotel Millennium,First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the hotel staff. Your team was friendly, attentive, and did their best to provide good service during my stay. Their welcoming attitude deserves recognition, especially in a setting where they seem to be working with limited resources. However, this letter is addressed to the management – the people behind the scenes who are not directly seen by the guests, but whose decisions shape every guest’s experience, especially when things go wrong. And sadly, things have gone wrong. Let me be honest: this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Everything feels outdated and worn down. I am still staying at the hotel as I write this, and what strikes me the most is the complete lack of proper ventilation in the rooms. Every room feels like a sauna – not because I paid for a spa experience, but because it’s impossible to breathe fresh air. And what was the solution provided? A small table fan. Yes, a fan! That’s how guests are expected to cool off and sleep through the night. This might work for a few guests, but when the entire building lacks airflow, fans simply aren't enough. The hotel has the financial means to buy several fans, but why not use those funds to actually fix the ventilation system? That would be a lasting solution that respects your guests' comfort, health, and the reputation of your brand. Frankly, if no action is taken soon, you risk losing more and more guests – and eventually your income. Once that happens, the hotel may be forced to shut down for good. Wouldn’t it be better to temporarily close for renovation, refresh the building, and come back stronger, rather than slowly drive the hotel to closure through bad reviews and guest dissatisfaction? As someone who travels often and appreciates good service, I truly hope you take this feedback seriously. Your staff are doing their best – now it’s time for management to do the same. With concern,A current guest Guri Vada, Daglig leder at First Hotel Millennium, responded to this review Dear Mouaadj, Thank you for your important feedback. I am very happy to hear that my colleagues did an amazing job with providing friendly and helpful guest service. I am truly thankful for my fantastic team! It is very hard to be a receptionist, and you can imagine it is even harder at an older hotel compared to a fresh an new hotel. In 1998 when our hotel was build, it was not normal to build hotels with air condition. That was ment for the tropics, and nothing we think we would need here in the cold north. And normally we haven't felt like we needed it, before the last two weeks. To have more than 30 degrees celsius over several days is not normal for us. We do have a functioning ventilation system, but in this heat it does not do much for either us nor our guests. There are great plans for a future renovation of our hotel, and we hope to get the good news very soon. That is why we have been tryiing our best with the resources we have available, to make every day good for both our guests and ourselves. I fully agree with your statement - and I take all feedback seriously. I hope we soon get the happy news our guests and we deserve!Welcome back in the future, and have a nice day! Warm regards,Guri VadaGeneral Manager

Does what It says on the Tin - good spot for Oslo city

    rating14 Jul 2025

This was one of those 'does what it says on the tin' type of hotels, good for a quick stop-over and well located for a city break but more no-frills than fancy. We booked as a family of 4 and were happily surprised that the room size was very decent with the lounge area (tv stand, armchairs and coffee table) dividing the double bed (adult section) from the other double (children section). Bathroom was quite small and basic but perfectly serviceable. The discovery of the heated towel rail made our stay as we were completely soaked through from a huge downpour on our way from the north of the city, so we managed to get all our soaking items dry overnight. Our room was on a higher floor and faced the street, however I couldn't say there was much noise, perhaps because this street was not one that had the city trams running down it. We all slept well, no complaints. The room came with a breakfast deal and, again, this was surprisingly good - the dining area was not luxurious, more canteen-style and coffee was from a machine sadly but the items on offer were tasty and the sweet pastry selection was remarkably up-market with delicate macarons proving a hit with our children! The staff were friendly and helpful, they let us store our belongings in the baggage room after check-out whilst we were touring the city for a day. All-in-all, very pleased. Oh, and the hotel is PINK so easy to clock when arriving to check in. Guri Vada, Daglig leder at First Hotel Millennium, responded to this review Dear Baba-Waga, Thank you so much for your well described review and feedback. We are very happy to hear that you had a great stay with us here in the heart of Oslo! We are of course especially happy to hear your lovely words about our friendly staff, our full and tasty breakfast buffet and our big family rooms. We hope you will tell all your friends were to stay for a city break in Oslo, and we hope to welcome you back again sometime. Have a nice day!Warm regards,Guri VadaGeneral Manager
