Where did the hot water go?

    rating19 Mar 2026

Nothing wrong with the location. Frogner is like a Parisian neighbourhood, and the city centre is close by. As for the property, it has so much potential but isn't quite there yet (or maybe it used to be, as other reviews point out, and it has since lost its former glory?). There was no hot water in the shower, evening or morning, and the sink clogged up immediately. A decent shower in the morning is a must before a long day of business. The room itself was nice. I had plenty of space and everything I needed. Just no hot water!

WORST FROGNER HOUSE EVER WITH OLD AND FAULTY THINGS

    rating21 Nov 2025

This is the worst Frogner House ever. Frogner House Bygdoy Alle is BIG NO NO. Noisy room from the restaurant downstairs, water from shower is either too hot or too cold. Fridge doesn’t work. Hairdryer and room heater older than ur granny. Room curtains don’t close properly so lights come in and disturbs ur sleeping. Both noisy room and light in morning really disturbing. U cant sleep properly. Go somewhere else but not this property. Hell no!! Big no..

    Would not return.

When checking in, you do it on an iPad. There was no staff present throughout our stay so when leaving, we needed to leave our bags behind as we had a late flight. Couldn’t find out what the pin was to hold items, but luckily another person who was staying at the hotel told us. Not too close to the main attractions, ranges from 25 + minutes walk so had to order Uber’s a lot. The room itself was nice and clean though. On love holidays the check out is stated 12 am but staff opened our door whilst we was getting changed at 11 am to tell us that the actual check out time was 11 am which was odd (they didn’t even knock). I would not come back to due to the location + the fact they didn’t have staff.

    Terrible experience

    rating29 Apr 2025

Terrible experience. We had to try 5 rooms before finding an acceptable one.The beds are of bad quality - they are unstable causing you to wake up if your partner moves. The curtains are barely covering the windows - letting a lot of light pass through. Some of the rooms was even missing some of the curtains. Most rooms were missing blinds/shades.The two downstairs restaurants Campo de' Fiori Osteria and Norum Grill (not associated with the hotel) were playing loud party music during all night. We had to call in complaints twice. Couldn't sleep. Two chefs from the restaurants were smoking frequently outside the windows in the backyard. Smoke was coming in.Both the sink and the shower drain were clogged before we even used them.Barely any space for your legs on the toilet because the bathroom was so small. No keys for the toilets.Room service didn't even bother to hang up the towels. Just threw them on the bed.The floors are thin and barely isolated so expect to hear your upstairs neighbor if they drop something. The hotel is worn generally down. Looks new on the promo pictures but in reality it looks nasty and lacks maintenance. Sofas and chairs had spots and marks on them, the coverings were scratched, holes in the walls etc...Staff refused to cancel our stay even when we could not sleep at night during our stay.We switched to a proper hotel nearby as soon as we had the chance. Definitely worth the upgrade. I would not stay at Frogner House Apartments again unless I really had to. I mean, it could definitely be worse, but as a Norwegian I can say this is below mediocre. Pros and cons

    rating09 Jul 2023

We stayed at the Frogner House Apartments after doing the Norway in a Nutshell route from Bergen to Oslo. One thing to consider, if you are doing that route, is that the luggage porter services that will collect your baggage in Bergen and deliver it to Oslo need to have a place to deliver it with a reception. Frogner House is not staffed with a reception area. We had not known of that, so when we arranged to have a porter service take our bags, they had to leave them at an office that services the apartments. That office closes at 11 pm, and by the time we got into Oslo on the train, it was almost 11 and while we just made it, it was stressful. Then we had to drag our suitcases a few blocks to the apartments.I was very disappointed with the room we had at Frogner House. There are a couple of pros: it is in a very good location, close to the Vigeland Sculpture Park, and with many nice places to eat nearby; there are nice convenient hooks by the door; there is a large window that opens fairly wide; the finishes are nice; it's modern; the beds are comfortable; the linens were fine including the towels; the bathroom was actually fine except that it has terrible lighting over the sink and it could have used a fan in it because it gets super humid in there when you take a shower. The cons; the room did not look even slightly like the "brochure picture" that was on my booking from booking.com; I thought it was large enough to contain a small couch and that it was going to have an open kitchen area. It actually has an armoire that opens up with a sink and it has has pots and pans, cutlery, and glasses all tucked into this closet. It's a clever arrangement but the room is way too small to even attempt to cook in such a space. There was one small round table and two chairs, but you could only use one chair because the other one needed to have a suitcase on it. I didn't even have a place for my suitcase, I simply stored it upright on the floor and then I had to drag it onto the bed every time I wanted to access it. When we arrived we were tired, it was very late and the room was stuffy and hot. One thing that I didn't know prior to making bookings in Norway was that air conditioning is not the norm. Without air conditioning rooms can be quite stifling in summer, especially on the upper floors. If you want to leave the window open at night, that creates its own issue, as then you can't close the drapes against the long summer light. You can see from the photos that the room as pictured looked quite spacious. The reality was very different. One of the reasons I booked the apartment was the advertised laundry facilities on each floor. While there was a washer and dryer on our floor, the dryer did not work, and when I called the person you are supposed to contact about problems, she said that that was the only washer/dryer in the building. After doing some looking, I did find another washer/dryer on a different floor.
