  Amazing location overlooking the mountains. The room and bathroom were super spacious & comfortable. 10 minute walk to the train station. The hotel architecture is delightful.

  Treated disgracefully by reception staff, who were borderline racist. Would not want anyone else to experience that.

  My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Holmenkollen Park from 2 to 4 June 2026, and it was truly a wonderful experience.As someone working within the Dalata Hotel Group – now part of the Scandic family – it was especially nice to experience Scandic hospitality as a guest and spend a memorable few days in such a beautiful setting.What made our stay exceptional, above all, were the people. I would like to sincerely thank and recognise Magdalena, Marcos and Jonas (as the hotel guide) from the Restaurant Team for their friendliness, professionalism and genuine warmth. They helped create a welcoming atmosphere and made every meal a pleasure.I would also like to express my appreciation to all members of the Front Desk Team, both during the day and at night, especially Panagiotis from the night reception. Everyone we encountered was helpful, approachable and always ready to assist with a smile.The breakfast selection was outstanding, offering a wonderful variety of products and flavours. I particularly enjoyed discovering some Norwegian favourites, including mackerel in tomato sauce and the traditional Mills caviar spread. The dinner menu was equally impressive – the grilled watermelon was a delightful surprise, and enjoying a glass of Ringnes beer added an authentic Norwegian touch to the experience.Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully presented. We especially appreciated the vintage skiing memorabilia displayed throughout the room corridors and public areas of the hotel, reflecting Holmenkollen's unique history and character. The hotel lobby itself was elegant and inviting, creating a wonderful first impression and a relaxing place to spend time.Thank you to everyone at Holmenkollen Park for making our stay so enjoyable.   Comfortable stay with a stunning view across Oslofjord

  We visited for a week in April/May - a great time to visit as it wasn't too busy and spring was starting to pop up all across Oslo.Scandic Holmenkollen Park was a great base for our trip - we has a superior room in the older part of the building and breakfast included in our rate. Despite the ongoing hospitality industry strike, the service we received was friendly, efficient and professional and we really loved the setting. We did not make use of the spa, gym or conference facilities. We chose the location as we like to walk and enjoy the outdoors, and it was close to Nordmarka forest, we love the peace and quiet and ability to switch off from the busy-ness of modern life, and it was very good value compared to a lot of the hotels and airbnbs in central Oslo - we didn't hire a car or use taxis on our trip, instead preferring to buy a weekly ticket on the Ruter app and using the metro lines to get around instead - please note that although it is only a short distance to/from the station, it is a very steep hill so you may want to consider alternative transport when arriving/departing with heavy bags, or if you have mobility issues. Trains seemed pretty regular and we didn't have any issues getting around on the network.The breakfast on offer was varied and always plenty available - it did get noticeably busier at weekends so maybe better to head down early if your visit is over a weekend. We ate in the restaurant on one night but due to the ongoing strike it was a buffet rather than a la carte - it was good, the puddings in particular!Public areas and rooms were well presented and clean, and the whole hotel had a quality feel to it as if a lot of care and attention had gone into ensuring comfort and cleanliness of all guests.The view from the hotel across Oslofjord is stunning, particularly at sunset with a drink in hand! (...some rooms had balconies/views too, ours was slightly to the side so didnt have a clear view but was still pretty to look out and enjoy)Activities we did from this base included: Holmenkollen Ski Museum, Nordmarka Forest Hiking, Island Hopping in Oslofjord, Viking Hiking & Biking Tour, Viking Planet, Arkeshus Fortress and Norwegian Resistance Museum, and walking the Akerselva river...so many possibilities!
