Location: OK, but we had a rental car (unrelated: for more freedom, a car is welcome).Check-in and welcome: very good.Room: large, clean, comfortable bed.Activities in the hotel: acceptable (swimming pool, gym). Breakfast: a little sparse for a 4-star hotel, even though we were there in the low season.The service and staff more than made up for any minor shortcomings. So, the downsides:

Right from the time of booking and planning, the staff were very helpful. I got a call back based on my email. We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday for a little get away. Huda called me and reassured that they will take care of everything. She also helped with booking the Dhow cruise. When we got back to the room, it was lovely to see the decorations in the room along with a nice cake. The decorations were elaborate and had a personal touch. We also got help with the extra bed requirements for the kids. I would also like to mention special thanks to the rest of the team including Elizabeth and Mazher. You went beyond your normal call of duty to make this trip special. The crew in the restaurant and other staff in the hotel were attentive and friendly. The place has a nice and quiet vibe. We would recommend this place to anyone considering.

Second visit and just as good as the first. Very welcoming, nice large rooms ( although a couple of us had rooms with a slight 'odour' which we were told is due to the wood in the ceiling) and good breakfasts.

Inflexible and unhelpful at all, if the only care is to get the money regardless anything else, i really feel unfair from the reservation team, after they accepted to change dates and i am trying to recommend dates , in one day they have changed completely and now not changing dates and not offering any solution, why because they said it clearly we have already got the money. Very unfair and i don't forgive them at all

A lovely resort and base in Musandam but take your litter home.

A comfortable hotel with beautiful views of the sea, even if the rooms are to the side, but they all seem to have balconies, if only we had time to enjoy them!Our arrival into Khasab was fine until the final approach when crosswinds catch the wings, so try not to worry about that - what comes later is worth it. The Atana is situated in a lovely spot with really nice rooms. The restaurant is great for breakfast and the evening food is fine although the staff were a little too keen to bring your next course if you were too slow to eat up. Often we'd have our dessert sitting there whilst eating the remaining main course! All the staff we encountered were welcoming and friendly. Typical, in Oman.From here, we had excellent trips on a dhow to snorkel and see a resident pod of dolphins in the fjords - such a delight! On the downside, there were lots of plastic bags and bottles floating by that looked very new. Another road trip took us to the mountains to see fossils, wadis, goats and splendid views.We left the Atani by road to travel to Dubai and saw many local families picnicking on the beaches, but dropping litter - loads of plastic bags and drinks bottles. I was shocked at this culture when there is pristine sea life with dolphins and turtles. Why is this allowed to happen? I purposely picked up litter on a local beach next to the resort to pointedly show that it needed to be disposed of properly (there are plenty of litter bins). Something needs to be done about this (also in the desert).
