just check another Asuncion areas if you dont want to regret
16 Nov 2025
Maybe 20 years ago this was one of the the best places to stay in Asuncion; but today its just a ghost that only have to show a name. The rooms are totally in need of maintenance: the carpets need to be replaced, the Tv doesnt work, the deployed baseboards and the painting on the walls finish what you are just imagine.... unfortunately a shame. Also the surrounding area its in total decadence against new development in some far areas of Asuncion that made this hotel in the middle of a dangerous place from 5pm to 8am without restaurants or places to go.An additional chapter its mention that the bar/restaurant/breakfast employee are a disaster and if you want to do a complain the supervisor just tell you that you can write an email at Ana Victoria Aranda (reception chief) and wash their hands. To finish: the variety and quality of foods are the same of many cheap truck foods presents in too many latin america / africa places (cheap and uggly caffe or tea, too dry scrambled eggs or untastes juices)

Decent hotel, but very dated and in need of renevation
09 Apr 2025
I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Asuncion. I checked in extremely late, after 12:30 am on the day after I had booked to arrive. The reception staff were fine with this, and throughout my stay they were very friendly and spoke good English. On my way to my room I could tell that the hotel was very tired and dated. The same was true once I got to my room. It was fine, clean and a good size, but things like worn out carpet and paint chips on the wall showed that things needed updating. The bathroom felt a bit less dated than the rest of the room. The air conditioning worked well, and the wifi was good. The hotel is about 10 minutes' walk from the very centre of Asuncion, so the location is good. The historic centre of Asuncion is a bit on the run-down side, but worth seeing if you're visiting. I asked the hotel reception about using a local bus, they were very helpful and gave me a bus card which I took to a convenience store around the corner to top up.The breakfast was very good, it was a mix of Paraguayan/South American and more continental style dishes. Lots of choice, and it was never too busy. I also had a caipirinha in the bar which was good.Overall, if you want to stay near central Asuncion for a reasonable price, then this hotel is a good choice.

Great stay in the old town Asuncion!
16 Apr 2024
The property itself was fine. I purposefully chose it being in old Asuncion vs. the many choices that are now in new Asuncion. I didn't think there was anything unique about the new city.I used the hotel car for airport pickup/departure. I used Uber for other around city transportation - very inexpensive, although do not count on the cars meeting the US standard for condition. This was a paid PLT stay via IHG.COM. I booked a standard king room and somehow ended up with two doubles. While the front desk offered to move me the next day, I just don't like moving once settled in. The room was clean and comfortable. There were a couple of maintenance issues that were handled. I thought it strange that the room included a full-size home kitchen coffee pot, but with little packets of coffee. I didn't bother with it and just got coffee at breakfast to take back to the room without an issue. The breakfast buffet was extensive, made to order eggs available, and everything was fresh. No complaints.Every staff member that I interacted with was fantastic! The neighborhood was very walkable during the day to the old town (and quite enjoyable to walkaround). But I was advised to not walkaround after dark. I did eat at Bolsi and walked back just after dark. And while I can handle myself, I kind of agree about not walking around at night. There is an excellent football (soccer for the US readers)-themed steak house next door to the restaurant (literally right next door). I had one of the best ribeyes I've ever had, so highly recommend. (I also recommend Bolsi.) Also, from speaking with the tour guide, the property is still moderately busy with events, but many events have moved to properties in the new city. The hotel recommended a tour guide to me. Tours in Asuncion and its environs are really not a thing, at least not for individuals, couples, whatever. It was pricey, but worth it. Tourism is relatively new to Paraguay, with more of a focus on it since it will co-host the World Cup in just six short years.Should I ever be in Asuncion again, I'd certainly return to this property.

Excellent in all senses!
23 Jan 2023
This review refers to my stay of 4 nights at the beginning of December 2022, for which I am deeply satisfied as this IHG hotel is outstanding in all aspects: tasty and varied breakfast, central location, business center having desktop computer, kind and attentive staff, fantastic swimming pool, nice ambiance and relaxing atmosphere, appealing bar and an appetizing restaurant featuring the Paraguayan milieu. With an expeditious check-in, as a Platinum Ambassador member of the IHG Rewards program I was given a welcome drink voucher by the Front Desk Manager Aureliano Gonzalez, which later prompted me to be introduced to the hotel bar Oddisea, which distinguishes by the spacious sitting and the friendly attention. The local "picada" accompanying the beer deserves to be recommended as it is frankly fullfilling. The central location of the property is to be pointed out as it is in a walking distance to the downtown attractions including the Uruguaya square, several government agencies, the Cathedral as well as the Costanera, where many tourists go. A special paragraph is to be awarded to the breakfast as it is mouthwatering because of the variety of options and the tastiness. For business travelers, there is a quiet business center with a desktop computer being very suitable. I have to congratulate personell Lorena Rolón as she was courteously assisting me in several possibilities for visiting and vacationing in Paraguay and other stuff as well as Ms. Virginia for the check out.The Wilson's restaurant is excellent for savoring the meat preparations of Paraguay and other local meals such as the famous Sopa Paraguaya. Rooms are spacious and TV broadcasting allows to watch all national channels, and mini bar is available likewise. The hotel features an Executive Lounge, which remains closed due to the pandemic and would be spectacular to reopen it as soon as possible as several Crowne Plaza establishments in other countries have reinstated them.
