Not a good option to explore Arequipa
30 Aug 2025
The hotel is far from the center, and although Uber is quite cheap (by European standards), I would recommend staying in a hotel closer to the city center so you can explore the old town. The hotel and decor are modern, but the rooms have carpet, which I consider to be outdated and less positive. The staff is not particularly friendly or helpful. Sonesta Arequipa, General Manager at Sonesta Hotel Arequipa, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad to know you appreciated our modern facilities and design. At the same time, we are sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Our location, although not in the historic center, offers a peaceful environment and quick access by car to the main attractions of Arequipa, with convenient transportation options such as Uber. We also take note of your comments regarding the carpets and the service you experienced, as this helps us improve and ensure warmer, more attentive interactions with our guests. We truly appreciate your perspective and hope to have another opportunity to welcome you, so we can offer you a more pleasant and memorable experience.Kind regards,Angela Gomez CanalesManager

Vacation!!
18 Apr 2025
The hotel was located a bit away from the cultural center of Arequipa, so, if you are there to sightsee, it will be a bit far from all the tourist attractions. The staff, especially those in the reception, is attentive and helpful. If you have any questions you have about Arequipa or where to go, they will be on top of it to help out. Sonesta Arequipa, General Manager at Sonesta Hotel Arequipa, responded to this review Dear Elizabeth,Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear that our front desk team was helpful and attentive during your stay. It’s always our pleasure to assist guests in discovering the best of Arequipa. While our hotel is located just outside the busiest part of the cultural center, many of our guests appreciate the quieter atmosphere, especially being across from the clinic and away from the city’s hustle. That said, we’re always happy to help with directions, transportation, or suggestions to make getting around as easy as possible. We truly appreciate your visit and hope to welcome you back again soon!Warm regards,Angela Gomez CanalesManager
