  Not one I would want if it was my hotel

  We had a suite and it smelt.   Disappointing could be great but far from it

  Casa Republica is in a brilliant location in Barranco but unfortunately that is about it. We stayed in room 104 on the ground floor and were kept awake late at night, woken during the night and woken each day around 5am due to the noise from reception and people coming in and leaving. Rooms 101-104 should be avoided for this reason. Although beautiful in the main house you will not have a restful sleep. It’s bizarre as the rooms are literally next to reception with little thought for those trying to sleep. There are even large sofas directly outside room 101 and 104, lovely for departing guests at 5am but awful for those trying to sleep. So yes a lovely building and great location but avoid the rooms on the ground floor. We found the breakfast poor compared to other hotels - we went out on day two instead. One positive… The rooftop bar is great and the service from Javier fantastic.   Wonderful experience!

  We loved EVERYTHING about the Casa Republica Barranco - the staff, room and meals were all top notch. Eddie, Gaia and the restaurant staff all went out of their way to make our stay memorable.The location is excellent and within walking distance of restaurants, bars, atms and excursions. A walk along the ocean is only steps away. This hotel met all of our expectations and added to the wonderful time we spent in Lima.   Nice atmosphere and great staff, rooms okay and surprising fee at the end

  Stayed here for one night; the staff greeted me and were extremely friendly and kind. Though I had booked a single king bed, they had somehow had me slated for two twin bed room, which did they sort out right away but I felt was strange. The courtyard was very nice and they had free 24/7 coffee and filtered water, which I appreciated. My room was on the second floor and was susceptible to a lot of the noise in the courtyard but this did not matter much in the evening hours. Neither the toilet nor shower had a door to close it, and there was no full body mirror available which was disappointing. The room itself was clean but relatively small. The staff did help me sort out a dinner reservation issue. The next morning, as we were checking out, we were charged an extra 30 Peruvian soles for stains on the towels (from makeup etc) which honestly felt somewhat humiliating and has certainly never happened to me at any other hotel before, including premium hotels. Though the environment and staff were nice, this really put a damper on the experience and I felt left a sour taste in my mouth about everything, given that the hotel stay itself was on the pricier side I did not expect something like this. Overall, I'm not sure that the environment and neighborhood outweighed some of the negatives and I would say overall this was an average stay at a price point that I may have had a better experience at elsewhere.
