    This hotel delivered much more than I expected. The location is fantastic if one wants to explore the historic centre of Lima, it's 5 minutes from Plaza Mayor and Plaza San Martin. The rooms are very well appointed for a 3 star hotel, would look good in a 4 star hotel too, but the staff at reception deserve a special praise for their kindness and availability.The breakfast is adequate for the cathegory, everything is cooked on site.Will definitely stay there again and recommend it.

    Perfect position for this clean hotel in city centre. Not luxury maybe, still it worths the price. I would definetely consider to sleep again here if needed.

    Though the rooms and common areas are a bit on the small side, this hotel was perfectly fine. The neighborhood is the historic city centre, with the main city plaza a short walk nearby. The staff were all very friendly and mostly multi-lingual. The breakfast was good with a nice view of the neighborhood. Oddly they have signs in the room prohibiting ironing, so if you need to touch up your clothing you may want to consider a different hotel.

    The front desk staff were nice and helpful. There was a hair dryer and a mini fridge in the room which was nice. There's also a free water refill station on the 4th floor, along with free coffee and tea. There's a currency exchange place around the corner across from Scotiabank, as well as a bodega. The hotel is also walking distance to shopping, food, and Lima Plaza. They will arrange airport transportation for $20USD/80Sol if you need that. I thought the mattress was hard, and the pillows were flat. The road noise/honking is VERY loud and it NEVER stops. Sleep is so important, especially when traveling, and unfortunately it isn't something you get at this hotel. Maybe the worst offense was that I had the do not disturb sign on the door and someone came into my room while I was out. They didn't clean the room or make the bed, but they did move the chair and pillows, opened the curtains and moved my suitcase; nothing appeared to have been taken. Did someone sneak in? Did housekeeping ignore the sign, come in, move things around but not clean? Who's to say, but I certainly felt uneasy after that and I was glad to have locked up my belongings before I left the room.

    Ideal location to see Lima

    Most tourists stay in Miraflores or Barranco, and then go to Machu Picchu or other Inca sites. But we wanted to see Lima which is a very big and important city, and Hotel Diamond was ideal. We arrived quite late at night, so we had our first dinner in Peru at the airport, but the hotel transfer driver waited for us and took us to the hotel very smoothly. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The area is great to explore the main squares and museums and shopping malls. There are lots of very very good restaurants and bars around. Chinatown is in walking distance, which is an experience in itself. We saw a wedding party come from the cathedral and saw that Peruvian people do dance in the streets. The buskers in the streets are some of the most talented performers we have ever seen
