    Lovely except the noisy spa

    rating23 Feb 2020

The surroundings is just perfect. Forrest and lake. The buildings are beautiful. Very quiet area. The rooms are very big. Plus for water and coffee and the room. Cleaning is good. The breakfast is good. Not 5 stars. But ok. The spa is just amazing. Big pool. Saunas. Solarium. Great star heaven in the ceiling. But many children playing and jumping in the pool. Feels like the local pool and not a spa. Even in the silence area there is screaming children and loud people. I really wish you would make a time only allowed for people over 15 years for example from 9-11 and again from 19-21. Mindfully music and fruit had been a plus. The spa treatment was really good but a bit short. The face massage was more like 15 minuets than 25 minutes. Staff is very helpful. We left early and got a bad with breakfast which was very nice. If there will be a quiet time in the spa every day I would absolutely come back.

    Beautiful country getaway

    rating21 Sept 2019

Spacious rooms, cozy spa with nice hot saunas, superb breakfast. The historical manor buildings are elegantly renovated. Loved the old straw roof! The surrounding forest offers lovely walks and the village of Oliwa is not far away (2km) with nice restaurants. Good for couples.

I booked as a very special treat, it looked stunning, presented as 5*establishment.None of this was true:Nice surroundings, pretty buildings, but that's all- a very unpleasant, unwelcoming hotel. I would not give it more than3*. I have been to much more superior ones of 4*ratings.Sfaff are entirely indifferent, Rooms are not exactly clean. Safe did not work, with only Italian instructions, neither did the fridge. Bankomat did not work. They tell guests to turn off all lights after 10pm,in their hotel regulations. We paid online for everything, including a luxurious vehicle transfer both ways to and from the station - only a taxi arrived, for which I had to pay myself. No apology or refund (100zl I paid, taxi was only 30zl).On arrival we were given a wrong key, consequently opening someone else's room, with people already there, not fully dressed. Awful! The embarrassment! Needless to say, no apology again, I was told "it happens".Nobody knew which our room was supposed to be. Nobody exactly care either. Please don't be fooled by pretty pictures and 5* rating. The only perhaps high standard are the restaurant and the staff waiting on you there. Still you won't get a smile from them, but food is nice though expensive. If you want a real 5* hotel in Gdansk, look no further than Hilton, no 1 Targ Rybny, it's fantastic. Some hotels could and should learn from them, thank you.

    A nice and relaxing experience

    rating01 Aug 2019

First impressions as we arrived to the hotel were not good. We entered our room and we spotted no less than 6 spiders during the first few minutes. And there was a grey silverfish on the floor of the bathroom. The minibar was half empty and the beverages left inside were with the seal broken. We went to the reception and asked for them to order us a taxi to the old town and also brought the bugs to the attention of the receptionist. The room was cleaned thoroughly before our return and from then on the stay was very nice. The hotel looks beautiful albeit the carpets are stained in some places and at time can look pretty worn. The staff are always nice and very helpful and they really know their jobs.We spent every evening in the spa area and used the sauna, jacuzzi and pool. All were kept in good shape and overall a very nice, relaxing experience. The hotels location is in the forest and taxis to old town Gdansk cost around 35-50zl depending on taxi company and time of day. To Sopot around 20-30zl.The breakfast was nice, not something overly special, but nice. The hotel bar serves nice club sandwiches and drinks in the evening. Did not dine in the hotel restaurant.I will return here on future visits to Gdansk because of the atmosphere, good staff and the facilities of the hotel.

Its nowhere close to 5 Star

    rating22 Jul 2019

You will read the same comments from many reviewers on here - the hotel comes nowhere close to the 5 star standard it advertises. The room was OK, it was clean, linen had been changed and a decent size. However immediately on arrival I noticed the minibar had half drank bottles in it - I rang reception to let them know (which took 20 minutes for anyone to answer the phone) and they said "Yes we know, dont worry you wont be charged" . At no point during our stay was the minibar sorted out.The towels are threadbare, over washed and way past their useful date. The shower was adequate, low water pressure but plentiful water.Overall staff were sullen and unhelpful. My son and I never felt like we were guests, we felt like we had intruded into their lives - makes for a strange atmosphere.Breakfast is adequate, again the staff unhelpful but they cleaned up quickly after people. The restaurant is a very ornate, old fashioned affair, we felt uncomfortable in it and didnt eat there. Again the staff were not friendly and this contributed to our desire to eat elsewhere. At no point in our stay or during checkout were we asked how the stay was or if the staff could do anything for us. Another example of service falling down.I would not stay here again, its not the cheapest option and from looking around hotels in Gdansk we could have done a lot better for less money. If the management read this, start with your staff, take them to a 5 star hotel and show them how it should work, people can overlook physical issues with the hotel if the service outshines it.
