  Last Minute Booking to Gdansk

  We arrived late at night to this hotel which was booked last minute due to our original destination, Brussels, having to be cancelled. On first viewing the area appeared to be in the middle of some renovation. We were greeted at reception and given a room on the first floor. Furnished plainly, it was very clean and functional and included a fridge with fresh bottled water every day, and a safe. As my daughter had organised the trip for my special birthday and told the hotel this, they had left a small.gift in the room for me. The shower in the morning had good pressure and the water remained warm throughout our showers. Beds were really comfortable and the room was really clean, the white soles of my slippers remained white with no dirt on them at all. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but we were only a 5Minute walk from the river front with plenty of places to eat and plenty to do. I would recommend this hotel as there were lots of things to do and see nearby e.g. WWII museum and river cruises aboard pirate ships. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The area was quiet with few disturbances.

  Excellent hotel in quiet location

  Hotel Bonum is a small hotel on the edge of the old city in a quiet residential area, but within easy reach of all the city’s most iconic destinations. Also, buses and trams are nearby, as are lots of good places to eat that are more popular with local people and Poles than foreign tourists.We stayed a week and for some of the time had to utilise the room with facilities for a person with disabilities. Both rooms were excellent and the room for someone with disabilities is on the ground floor, although a lift provides access to the other floors, the basement included, where there are excellent breakfasts.All the staff were extremely helpful, patient and friendly, and dealt with many unusual requests because one of us had been involved in a very serious accident. It was good that coffee, tea and water were provided in the bedrooms, and a fridge allows guests to bring in a few things to eat and drink. This is an excellent place to stay in Gdańsk, for its location, the facilities in the bedrooms, the breakfasts and the wonderful staff. This will be our first choice for accommodation in Gdańsk in the future.

  Be aware of noise coming from the construction nearby

  Be aware of noise coming from the construction nearby. Unfortunately, this hotel led us know about this only after we completed our reservation and paid it off. When we cancelled this reservation, Booking.com tried to help us to recover at least some of this money, but hotel refused to do this.

  First impression was okay . Receptionist was friendly, room was clean but was a bit surprised that there is no robes or slippers in the room. One more thing is that there is no parking for the car. We stayed in lots of hotels which are only 3 stars but always had a free carpark or at least slippers in the room. To finish it breakfast was good without a doubt. Lady in the canteen was lovely thanks to her. Would we come back? No. Would we recommend it for someone looking for a low price/quality? 🙌🏼 yes.

  An excellent Hotel that thinks of all your requirements

  The hotel is easy to find and the street to follow is tartaczna as you turn into the street you will see a large blue vertical sign in the distance.The hotel is situated near the monument/ memorial to the defenders of the post office(WW2) and the post office museum .we arrived around 1.30 in the afternoon and were allowed to check in straight away. The reception is staffed 24 hours and all the staff speak good English and are really nice and willing to help whatever the issue.Town maps and a free city guide is available from the reception.The rooms are good, wood flooring ,flat screen TV, tea and coffee with kettle, and a fridge, and a safe. Unfortunately the TV did not have any english speaking channels.The hotel also provides two bottles of water per day complimentary replenished by the housekeeping staff. The air conditioning works well and the bed is comfortable if very soft.The wardrobe however was a bit cramped and dark squeezed in behind the door .The shower was good with fair water pressure and enough space to be comfortable.We borrowed an electrical adaptor from reception and one of the lovely staff obtained a pint glass from the restaurant for me.Breakfast provides an excellent choice hot polish sausage/bacon bread for toast, rye bread ,cooked meats ,cheeses ,salad ,fresh fruit ,yoghurts ,small sweet cakes teas /coffees and fruit juices .You also have the option of omelette, scrambled egg, fried egg, poached eggs or pancakes freshly cooked to order. Breakfast is served from 7.00am -11.00am daily in the basement restaurant.There is a small supermarket on the corner Zabko which sells water ,beers ,soft drinks ,biscuits, confectionery ,crisps and hot dogs.Next to that on the same street is also a good Mexican restaurant with seating outside.We asked the reception to book us a taxi for the airport at 4.00am on our departure day which was excellent "Neptune taxis".However the lady on reception failed to make the wake up call at 3.30am that we had asked for and we just made the booking.The hotel location was also handy for the tourist sites 10 minutes from the waterfront promenade ,15 mins from WW2 museum etc.
