    Surprise birthday trip

    rating30 May 2026

Treated as a birthday surprise at this hotel. Room ok very basic booked in as 3 people 3 single beds 3 sets of towel but 2 cups! Room extremely warm so used air conditioning but had to get up after an hour as it was dripping water all over the floor. Reported the first morning when asked if ok to send up an engineer now to have the same issue last night.Pillow very flat just shower gel as accessories in room. Hairdryer in bathroom but overheats very quickly. Breakfast was ok usual fruit toast cereal and cake. Porridge 1st morning then didn't see again but the staff are something else so miserable and unhelpful. Not even a smile in the restaurant from any of the ladies. Not a short distance from square I would say 35/40 minute walk. Taxi very quick but use Bolt a fixed price but be warned don't try for a price then go back in to book as price increases. Anna Stefańczyk, General Manager at Hotel Galicya, responded to this review Thank you for your review and constructive comments. We are sorry that your stay did not meet all your expectations. Such informations are very important to us and will help us improve the quality of our services. Best regards.

Personally I would not return sorry :)

    rating22 Mar 2026

We arrived late tuesday night and we was given room 200,our first impressions was the room was very dated, the room was unbearable to sleep in as it was so hot the windows would only open about a couple of centremitres! Around 2am in the morning we was woken up by extreme clanking from the radiators (it’s a shame I can’t add videos so u could hear the noise they were making) this happened multiple times throughout the night/early hours of the morning. After being out all day the next day we came back and stood outside the room and heard the radiators making the same racket through door so we went to report it to reception and the lady was rude and had attitude and we offered her to listen to the recordings of the noise and she said “no I don’t need to hear it the maintenance guy will be out within two hours. to make the noise stop she said to put the radiators on number 2 which didn’t work the radiators made the noise for another solid 2 hours. The maintenance guy arrived and he told us to turn the heat up full to stop the noise but we tried all ways to stop it but he didn’t believe us and said he’d try to get us moved rooms after we put our point across saying we tried everything we ended up being moved rooms the room (207) was instantly cooler and the windows opened wider but then realised we had bites all over our bodies we think it’s bed bugs or fleas as it’s a pet friendly hotel… the only good thing about our stay was the scrambled eggs at breakfast and their apple juice was delicious Anna Stefańczyk, General Manager at Hotel Galicya, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback. We regret that your experience at the hotel did not meet your expectations. We will take the issues you reported into consideration to make the necessary improvements. We hope that despite these difficulties, your stay in our city was a success. Best regards!

    Quiet location

    rating13 Sept 2025

Ok negative first, hotel was a little tired and dated, away from the city centre. That said we loved how friendly and helpful the staff were in particular Dorota the receptionist was very welcoming, extremely helpful with tips on where to get the tram into the main square, even offered to sort out a breakfast box as we were leaving early to fly home. The young guy from Ukraine who served in the bar every night(Im sorry I forgot your name) is a credit to Best Western, always cheerful a real nice guy. Finally Tomasz the manager friendly helpful and we hope to see you in the hotel next year. Location was less than 20 mins from the city centre, food was very good (great chef) and local beer also. Krakow is a beautiful city with lots going on, trams are very cheap just 4zl for 20 mins, the food in the square was average price and the Polish people made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be going back. Anna Stefańczyk, General Manager at Hotel Galicya, responded to this review Thank you for your excellent review! It's a real pleasure for us that your stay met your expectations. We are grateful for your suggestions, which will contribute to the even greater comfort of our guests in the future. We cordially invite you to visit again! Best regards.

A basic but clean hotel in a good location.

    rating01 Aug 2025

This hotel is very basic and a little dated but it was spotlessly clean and our room was prepped daily with fresh towels and beds made.. its not directly in the main centre but is not far at all, we got an uber for around £3.50 or there was a tram stop directly outside. Across the road is a supermarket, McDonald’s, chemist, kebab shop.. the breakfast was a selection of hot food including sausage and scrambled eggs, and the cold was cereal, yoghurt, hams, cheeses and fruits. The coffee was lovely as were the different breads to toast. I would stay here again. Anna Stefańczyk, General Manager at Hotel Galicya, responded to this review Thank you very much for your positive review! We are delighted that your stay at our hotel met your expectations. Your comments are extremely valuable to us. We look forward to your return visits and welcoming you back! Best Regards.

Hotel Galicya is not a Best Western and not for tourists

    rating27 May 2025

Booked are holiday through are local Tui branch to Krakow Poland from the 19/5/25 -26/5/25 and was advised and sold the Best Western Galicya hotel,as the place to stay. I would truly advise anyone booking this hotel to stay clear as it is not a Best Western it is actually owned by the Satoria group and certainly not for tourists. The hotel itself is for conferences, school trips ect.Now for are experience. On a arrival the welcome was not the warmest and the hotel was not what we expected after seeing the photos Tui showed us,the rooms are outdated and tired .Are first nights stay there was a complete nightmare, there was a coach full of school kids stopping at the hotel ,and they were screaming and playing up until 1am even though I complained to reception earlier, and these kids were there for a further 3 nights. The restaurant was small and we were not allowed access for four nights due to it being used for the school kids ,and for a conference reception, also we were not allowed to use it for 3 mornings for the same reason. The restaurant closes at 10am and all drinks machines are switched off .Please also note the rooms do not have any milk,no coffee and limited tea ,no English tv channels, the beds are two singles pushed together even though we paid for a premium double room, the air conditioning dose not work ,if you open the window due to the rooms being so hot the noise from the trams keeps you awake. As for the staff only one was helpful. So to sum up are stay at this hotel it was a nightmare and if you find this review hard to belive check it out on Google, and also look up the Satoria group. I would also like to add that Krakow is a beautiful city ,that we really enjoyed, just the accommodation that let the holiday down. Anna Stefańczyk, General Manager at Hotel Galicya, responded to this review Thank you for your opinion, we are very sorry that your stay with us was not successful. However, I would like to explain that for 4 years we have not been part of the Best Western chain. Our hotel is 3*** and offers accommodation with breakfast. We always try to meet the expectations of our guests, we are proud of our staff who care for guests, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the tasty breakfast. In all rooms there are welcome sets with coffee and tea, and housekeeping adds additional coffee or tea every day on request. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience, at the same time we encourage you in the future to contact the reception to clarify any doubts. Best Regards.
