  The staff here were great, very helpful and breakfast was good. Despite the fact that we had an upstairs room with small upper windows, it was still very comfortable. The beds were comfy, the was a fridge, and the bathrooms huge and with a big bath. It has character. It would have been nice to have had a little outside space rather than just a smoking bench at the entrance. The position in the town was excellent- quiet but 10 minutes walk to the square and 5 to the castle and river.

  This a a small hotel, 16 rooms and not much in the way of facilities but we knew this when booking. Very small reception with one small sofa/bench, our room was on the ground floor near the breakfast room which we found quite adequate for our stay, there was plenty of storage also with a fridge and safe (free of charge). Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was a good size and came with a small choice of toiletries.There was a small patio area with a couple of chairs which would be nice in the summer months, rooms as well as hotel had a certain old world charm about so anyone wanting a modern looking hotel, this isn’t for you. The breakfast room is small and if everyone in the hotel decided to have breakfast at the same time you would struggle too get a table, nice array of cold continental food with scrambled eggs and mixed cooked vegetables being the only hot options. But all the same very nice, staff were very friendly and willing to help. I booked directly with the hotel and the whole process was hassle free, I did make a special request for a bottle of wine and some beers to be placed on our and sister in law’s room on arrival. As the hotel has no bar they made a special trip to pick these items up and would like to say a special thank you for it.Big question is, would I stay here again. Without a doubt I would have no hesitation in returning to the hotel Maltanski, thank you for a great stay

  Great local clean hotel with friendly, warm, helpful staff

  I stayed at Hotel Maltanski for about 5 days. I stayed at the Radisson Blu down the street, and a beautiful air b and b for a few days and then landed at the Maltanski after visiting a friend staying there. It looked very unassuming. What I found was a lovely local hotel with the most helpful, friendly, and welcoming staff. The room(s) I had on the first floor were simple but very clean, good sized, and had a wonderful patio that was both private and shady. I had breakfast one day which was clearly made from local ingredients, freshly baked, and plentiful, with lots of choices. Again, the kitchen/serving staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed being at the hotel and feeling a part of the community. The location is perfect--across from a park, a few minutes walk to the castle, old town, etc if you walked one direction and in a real neighborhood (non-tourist) in the other. If you are looking for a 5 star and fancy hotel, this is not it...but it is just right if you want a cozy, comfortable, friendly, clean, convenient, and local experience. I should add that the front desk was incredibly helpful in making sure I got where I needed to go, including ensuring that I was on the right train to my next destination. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Krakow.

  The hotel is in an excellent location, only taking 10 minutes to walk up into the old town.It's an old building with lot's of character.The rooms are quite large and clean but also noisy, having wooden floors and very thin walls and partitions between rooms.There is a limited mini bar which was handy as the hotel has no bar of it's own.Also it would be beneficial to take shower/bath products as they are extremely limited in the bathroom.There is a safe which is very useful.The breakfast is continental style but very nice and more than adequate with an excellent coffee machine.The reception staff are quite miserable with the exception of Dominika who was superb, always smiling, informative and friendly. She was a star.This was not a hotel we would book again but it was adequate for our 3 night stay on this visit.

  Lovely traditional hotel, great location a pleasant ten minute walk from the square. Large rooms, most with a patio which is unusual in a city hotel. Very clean, large comfy beds, had everything we needed, good choice at breakfast and helpful receptionists. Couldn’t fault it !
