Charming hotel located in Warsaw Old Town

    rating20 Oct 2023

Dom Literatury is a great place to stay if you into the authentic things, so you will definitely enjoy the decent rooms overlooking Warsaw Old Town. The hotel personnel were welcoming and helpful, lovely restaurant on site with appetizing breakfast options. Will certainly recommend 👍🏻

Centrally located and within walking distance to the Old Town

Our room was upgraded to an apartment. The apartment was huge and clean. Bed was comfortable. Adam the guy at the reception counter was very helpful. Check-in & out was fast. The hotel is very close to the Old Town. All places of interest are within walking distance. There are plenty of eateries nearby.

    Perfect location, fabulous view

    rating03 Oct 2021

Dom Literatury is located right on one of the most picturesque squares of Warsaw - our room had an amazing view over the Old Town, Sigismund's Column, and the Royal Castle! These monuments were literally steps away from the hotel. The hotel entrance is just off the main street, and the rooms are located on the third floor of a historic building (there's an elevator but the stairs are quicker). Adam at the reception was really helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. (Thank you for the flexibility with rebooking!). A buffet breakfast is included and served downstairs in the restaurant - eggs, sausages, pastries, fruits and vegetables, bread, cold cuts, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Spacious and clean room and bathroom. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Has Potential but,

I have just returned from Warsaw where I stayed a couple of nights in this hotel. I was dropped off by my taxi in Castle Square and tld its just around the corner as he pointed right. First impressions were of a fantastic location, right on Castle Square on the edge of Old Warsaw. I walked around the coner and ended up about 100 metres up the road asking directions in the Raffles Hotel who had never heard of this place. A bellboy then googles it and found it and directed me back down the road, I walked past it again by about 50 metres, I decided to go back and scrutinise every shop/hotel/cafe I had walked past and I found it, it was where the driver said it was but it was just a big black door with a dull plaque on the wall, it never announced itslef. The door was heavy and lead me into a dark passageway and I got the impression I was in an old soviet style aparment block. I was directed to my room by a rather unhelpful large woman at reception who did not speak English, this is not a crime but being in the hotel business meeting guests from all over the world, it would be a good suggestion. I noted outside to that plenty others speak English even if I tried a little Polish. In my time at this hotel I saw 6 different reception staff, all unhelpful/uninterested barring the last one who checked me out. The lift is officially the slowest in Europe and one has to keep their finger on the button for it to move or come down for you. The corridors and room were very nice, but my room had a cup/saucer, one could pick up tea bags/coffee in th ecorridor, but nobody had a kettle and the large lady in reception did not want to help so I gave up. Breakfast was adequate but strange, only two hot selections, scrambled egg and hot dogs. TV channels of about 12 all in Polish except the German News in English. Not a great hotel, over rated but worth a stay if your looking for a cool location. Dont expect friendly exchanges with staff and take one of those water boiling plug in tools for your brew.

Great quirky hotel in the Old Town

Really enjoyed this. It's quaint in a nice way, with the world's slowest elevator and friendly staff. Our room was nice - clean, spacious, comfortable and overlooking the square. We'd certainly go back.
