  Convenient stay in Lucotel

  Modern style hotel with large comfortable rooms. King size bed was comfortable. Hotel near a busy roundabout with a Super U supermarket next door and a LIDL opposite. Noise was not a problem. Dining room somewhat bare but due to a dining & dancing function we were served dinner in the bar. Food was tasty and reasonable cost with a choice of home produced food.Unable to connect with WiFi - maybe our fault! Very happy with our brief stay and pleased to recommend.

  Good for a party!

  We were visiting the area to attend a friend's birthday party at this hotel and decided to stay the night. As a party venue (about 80 guests) this is very good and their kitchen coped well with the four hot courses served. This part of the visit would rate a higher score than average but the rooms are small and the decor is tired and in need of update. The ventilation is not brilliant so the rooms smell musty on entry. Breakfast was cut down to a formula and did not have much choice. The staff were brisk and not particularly friendly considering the trade that our friend's birthday party had brought in. I would not chose to stay again until the rooms have had a makeover. I believe the management has recently changed so perhaps it is on their agenda. The function room layout is however, versatile and would be good for business meetings and the like.

  2 nights stay in family room with dad and brother

  Needed to spend 2 nights at this hotel on 24th and 25th April 2014. Excellent hotel and great value for money. Staff very friendly and very helpful the food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. the beer in the bar was also very good. Very enjoyable 2 nights stay. Would have no trouble recommending the hotel. Very clean and tidy. First class for the money and would stay their again if I needed to do so.

  the rooms:& bathrooms were very clean, though a little tired and; therefore a need a need to update - we had booked a twin & were given an ex twin - now a double - very comfortable BUT problems re head clearance with acute sloping ceiling - no problem if there had been two singles!!breakfast was at best average ( compared with competitors ) but not too bad - the main problemwas for my wife - on both mornings, arriving before 9.00 she had to sit in the middle of the uncleared tables of the large groups booked in - plus some of the options no longer available - no-one to help so she had to go to the kitchen to ask for miilk - lack of staff?????in short, as mentioned by some other reviewers, the priority seemed to be for the folks of large coach parties, locals & friends of the family

  Two people sharing, one night only

  A one night stand in desperation. Hotel appears rather unkempt (needs some TLC, grass overgrown and bushes need trimming - a coat of paint would go down well).Manager very helpful and friendly, room at the back of the hotel was out of reach of the WiFi, so a trip to reception was needed to make a connection.Food was adequate in dining room, but breakfast room was unloved - it still had the remains of christmas decorations left in place.Overall - only just adequate for one night.
