I don't normally write reviews but feel that I must in this case because I booked through the love holidays site and all reviews were excellent. I did find it odd that transfers weren't included in a package deal but put it down to the rural location. We were stressed on arrival due to problems at the airport and a missed taxi booking so when we arrived we went to the bar for a drink. The service was awful. We asked for two beers. After waiting 20 minutes in a bar with only a handful of people we received the wrong drinks. Eventually it arrived but trying to order another was painful. In the end we ordered multiple drinks so we wouldn't have to wait. There was a coffee pod machine in the room that doesn't work. No milk in the room. I ordered a cappuccino at the pool bar but there was no milk. The staff have their backs to you and ignore customers. The food in the restaurant is only labelled in Portuguese and all the food is cold, even when coming straight from the kitchen. I asked at reception where the hotel supermarket was as its on the site map but I couldn't find it. On the website it says supermarket and local shops 1 minute away. This is untrue, it doesn't exist. I asked about taxis or hire cars or excursions. I was told there were none.When I asked about walking to the local village, I was told its 'very dangerous'.It's not at all and thank goodness we did walk to town as theres not alot else to do at the hotel. The lake is beautiful, although I had to walk along the road to find an access point to it. Nothing is explained, communication is poor and the menu at the lounge bar and pool bar is limited. Food at the a'la carte restaurant is good, although there is no atmosphere, you feel like you are in a sterile environment and service is slow. The louge bar doesn't open until 5pm and the pool bar shuts at 6ish. I think both bars should be open all day, although I don't know where all the tourists go as the bar is never busy. We did manage to hire a car eventually from the next town but only after speaking to some locals who stayed one night. The staff are ill informed. For a five star hotel the staff needed to do so much better. Please consider when you book this hotel that you could well be stranded!

Relaxing Outing

This hotel has wonderful amenities!!! The pools are just outstanding and the all inclusive buffets have great choice. We ate so much at breakfast that we didn't need any lunch but that buffet looked marvelous as well. Fantastic drink choices througout the day and night as well as during each meal and the Sangria was top notch!Fresh orange juice at breakfast was the only thing missing! For a 5 star hotel we would have expected that to be a standard.Very comfortable bed and wonderful room with the best rain shower we have ever had in any hotel!!! Great massages at the wellness too! The infinity pool at the little marina was very pretty and the restaurant (not included in the all inclusive) is great!The gorgeous outside adults only pool on the 4th level is a huge plus!!! We spent most of our time there and absolutely loved it!!!The service of the staff throughout the hotel is great. The only downside of this hotel, we could think of, was that there were children in the welness pool as the other inside pool is being dismantled. We would suggest to put in special hours for children from maybe 10 am to 2 pm and make it adults only after 2 pm!If you are looking to book this hotel don't hesitate! It was worth the money which we didn't think was outrageous either!!!

Ask for Rosa!

During your stay get at least one massage from Rosa at the spa. She has THE best hands. She gives one of (if not the best) neck and back massages. You will do yourself a disservice if you miss out on the opportunity. I went twice and the second massage was even better than the first (and that’s saying something!). It’s that good!

Good:Great location, perfect for a relaxing getaway (car is needed to get there). Staff is super friendly. Shout out to Artur, Gonçalo and Daniel at the pool bar, who are super friendly and go the extra mile. Rooms are spacious and clean. We did all inclusive - definitely worth it, especially since there aren’t really any other options nearby. Good variety and quality. Something for everyone. Breakfast is really good.“Bad”: as a 5-star hotel, it surprisingly lacks pool-side service; if you want a drink you have to get it yourself from the bar. In the summer heat, no ice-cream available on (or off) the menu and the pool bar does not have an ice-machine (WTH?!), running out on hot days. They could also do with AC (or at least a fan) for the employees behind the counter and some ambience music. Hopefully they will get this sorted before summer really sets in (we went in June at 35°C!).All in all, worth going for a weekend or longer break.

To relax in a calm but high class place

Very nice and quite place. Swimming pool is great located in nice garden. Buffet option for dinner is excellent. Good variety of tasty products and drinks at a good price. Service is excellent.rooms are very well decorated and spacious. Breakfast is copious and very good. Parking facilities.
