  Very nice pool area here to sit and relax at the entrance wall of the city. Comfortable rooms and quiet area close walk to everything in the village. Would stay here again.

  Great service, location, huge rooms, pool in the back for when it gets too hot and the drinks are always available. I really couldn't complain, it was top notch. Really enjoyed this place. There is a bidet, what more is there to say?   Highly recommend this beautiful, well-located hotel!

  What an absolutely beautiful hotel! I was only sorry that I only had one night to spend here. The whole property is lovely, with a gorgeous garden and pool encircled by the original medieval wall, creating a unique experience, and the resident peacock was an added treat. The interior is equally beautiful, the rooms are luxurious, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A very nice breakfast was also a plus. The hotel is extremely convenient and walkable to everything. I would definitely stay here again!   Not a 4 Star Hotel

  We pulled into the hotel around 8:30 pm, after a long day of travel. The check-in process was unnecessarily disorganized and slow. Once we finally got to our rooms, we had planned to have a quiet, relaxing evening, in our room. Instead, our room was directly over the restaurant/bar, and we could feel the music's vibrations and hear the band (playing bad cover songs of American music), even with earbuds, like we were in the room with them. At 10:10 pm, we called the front desk, and were informed that the music would end at 10:30, but it did not. At 10:30 pm, we called the front desk and were told that the music would end at 11:00 instead, but it did not. At 11:00 we called the front desk, and were informed that the music should end soon, which it did not. At 11:25 pm, the torture ended, and, we fell into bed frustrated and angry. In the morning, we spoke to Maria, the on-duty manager, and were moved to a quieter section for our second night. However, the hotel offered no compensation for the loss of our peace and quiet for the entire evening, other than to refund the 18 euro parking fee. And, since the hotel also was full for our second night, some other suckers were going to be stuck in the unbearable rooms we vacated. We've been in Portugal for a couple weeks, staying at 4 star hotels, and this was, by far, the worst experience we've had. Don't make the same mistake we did. Find another 4 star hotel, one that treats its guests like you would expect from a 4 star hotel. We are glad that we were able to move you to a quieter room on the second day and provide you with some baked goods from our baker, as well as offering you the use of our private garage.However, we regret that this solution was not sufficient to mitigate the negative impact of the situation.   Stayed here while on a group tour through Globus Travel. I was pleasantly surprised as how nice our room was. It had obviously been refurbished. It was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and comfortable to use. I would stay here again.
